insurance denied operation!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't keep living with this PAIN....And my DR agrees. They denied the OP because my doc didn't perform a D & C and they said I didn't need the operation. So my doc is sending me to another DR for a second opinion and try to fight this with the ins. I was suppose to go to pre-op tomar and have the op on the 28th. I can't bear the thought of Auntie FLO visiting again. I thought she packed her bags and left my life for good on Sunday. My Doc said if they continue to deny the op she will try to do the ablation. (spelling ???)

I would try not to worry too much. Insurance pulls this crap all the time. It is all about their bottom line and has nothing to do with the health of people!
If your doctor keeps pushing it should happen. You are lucky you have a doc who is not just dropping it.
Blessings,
Carrie

insurance denied operation!!!!!!!!!!!
my insurance company did the same thing. They said once I had the cone biopsy that I would be cured!!! Well I have been dealing with these bad paps for 14 years and there not going away. My doc got on the phone and fought with them for a half hour till they agreed to re evaluate it, they did, and decided it was necessary. This wasn't even the doc that did my surgery. I was also having a fistula repair and had to go to a different hospital where this surgeon was so another Gyn did my surgery per my regular Gyn's referral. I will continue to see my orginal Gyn for follow ups. He is wonderful, especially for fighting to get this approved. Sometimes insurance companys need to hear it from a doctor just so they realize that they DO NOT have a medical degree and they cannot make a decision based on text book cases.

insurance denied operation!!!!!!!!!!!
I think I had an easy time with the ins. co. because my doctor had done 2 d&c 's and 1 ablation in the past 5 years...I thought I would bleed to death and began to wonder if doctor would ever think to do a hysterectomy...but, come to find out we had to exhaust all resources and prove others stuff would not work They paid for all my stuff no probs...they are the stupid ones (ins co) just think of all that $$$$$$ they were out for all those procedures that did not work...they get the DUHHHHH Dunce cap to wear.

ablation vs hyster
HI Ladies
I have had ultrasound, D&C (did nothing but make more bleeding and pain!!) and have been flooding since about March 5. My doctor now has me taking 2 1.0 (??) estrogen pills by prescription to try to "gel up" the bleeding in my uterus. I have a CT scan tomorrow, which will require me to drink that lovely contrast medium tonight. I have been dealing with this bleeding for months on end, always have abdom. pain. My doctor has all but come out and told me that all of these procedures and tests are to satisfy the insurance company that all avenues have been exhausted.
Given the choice of ablation and hyster...I pick hyster all the way. My doctor has also told me that she thinks I'm a good candidate for vaginal hyst., so she knows what it will come to. I figure that ablation is not 100% for the bleeding and pain. With the hyster, there is a better chance. At least this is what I understand to be true.
I'll be interested in what others have to say.
Wish me luck on my pointless CT scan tomorrow, ladies. She's looking for bowel/bladder issues as possible causes for pain....DUH~!!!! The pain is accompanied by VAGINAL bleeding..it is called CRAMPS.........soooooooooooo frustrating!!!!!!

insurance denied operation!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi! I had a D&C and ablation done the same day...Nov. 7, 2003, to be exact. Many women have good results. I didn't. I'm still bleeding 15 days per month. The ablation itself wasn't bad at all. You're only under general anesthesia about 15 minutes. You've got cramping a couple of hours afterward, but after that...nothing. For women that bleeding is the only issue...it's worth a shot. However, scar tissue can sometimes mask endometrial cancer....so if you've got a history in your family, I wouldn't suggest it. Hyst all the way!

You're lucky you have insurance. Mine dropped me altogher, they said was a pre-existing condition. I've been bleeding since Christmas Eve and hasn't let up! I can't believe how much this will be costing me, but it will be worth to have my life back. Good riddence to A F ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!! Good luck to everyone. I'll see you on the other side. Scheduled for Tuesday, April 27th 6:15 A.M.!!!

insurance denied operation!!!!!!!!!!!
I did a D&C a year ago, followed by BC pills to "regulate" me. That didn't help, so then we did the Lupron shots for 3 months. That did the trick, so the insurance didn't argue with the surgery, since we'd tried reasonable alternatives...
Good luck with yours!
