Is cramping normal?

Hi everyone,

LOL...I am sure I am driving you all crazy ) I have been having cramps for the last couple days with some sharp shooting pains. Is that normal? I go back to the doctor on Thursday but I hate to call him. I will be 4 weeks post op on Thursday but like I said in my other posts I have been doing a little too much. Will the doctor be able to tell me if I am healed or not by examining me on Thursday?

Hi Tracee,

You'll probably have some cramping and shooting pains as your internal sutures start dissolving and for up to a year afterwards, as it takes awhile for everything to totally heal. And if you're overdoing, that can contribute also. Be sure to take it easy and pamper the princess. You only have one chance at a good recovery.

Your doctor should be able to tell at your appointment if you've healed.

Best wishes and s,

Lisa

Wow!!! A year? And here I thought after my 8 weeks post-op I should be back to the norm. (aside from maybe situps), but then I get cramping also and wondered., what can be cramping, I don't have anything to get cramps in. LOL Now I know it's the healing. Also have had some mighty sharp burning stabs just a bit below my bellybutton (the spot that is still tender)., could that be from stitches as well?

Hi Lisa

Thank you for replying! I really hope it does not take a year but hopefully I will start to feel better soon. I do my best to not over do it but it is hard. Thanks again
