remaining ovary has to come out

Well, my recovery was going well until the pain started again!! I went to my doctor today and he wanted me to have a vaginal ultrasound to check on the remaining ovary. So, I had that done today also.

Great news!! (being sarcastic). I have a bloody cyst inside the ovary and also some bloody substance surrounding it.

Now I have to have that out. Help!!!

Is anyone out there that went through the same thing?? I am so upset.

Hello...

I had my hyster last April and on May 3rd of this year I'm having my remaining ovary removed due to a cyst and reoccurring endo problems.

It happens...and it's a bummer.

I waited to see if the cyst would shrink on it's own...but it's growing. Geeeeesh.

So, back in they go...and hopefully for the last time.

Stinks, doesn't it?

hemorrhagic cyst

The correct name is hemorrhagic cyst which is the size of a quarter. I talked to my doctor this morning and this definitely was not present during my hysterectomy or the ovary would have been removed. So, now I have to monitor the pain and then will have the ovary removed laprascopically (I hope) on May 7th. I will then be in full blown menopause at age 37.

Oh what fun it is to be a woman!

I am so depressed right now.

Doctor also put me on Effexor? Anyone with experience with this medication?

I am 8 weeks post op and am totally wiped out from work and pain.

I still waiting for the light at the end of the tunnel.

The opposite

I had laproscopic surgery for an ovarian cyst and removal of the ovary and some endo in February
Due to too much scar tissue and lots of endo, they did nothing and now my TAH/BSO is Wednesday.
I had hoped to manage with only three days off work and now I have weeks off work coming.

It's a pain isn't it?

I sure hope we all make it to the other side to these pain free and energetic lives I keep reading about.
Good luck

remaining ovary has to come out

Thanks so much. I just hope that they can go through the belly button and not the incision. I don't know if I can handle the incision pain again.

You are right, this too shall pass, but I wish it passes quickly.

One other thing, I did have my uterus adhered to my colon and now I'm afraid that adhesions and endo are forming there also.

My stomach is so swollen.

Thanks for listening. Hope all goes well with you.
