Anybody Leaking?

Hi Ladies,

Personal question...Anybody leaking urine just sometimes - like when you move a certain way?

I am 3-1/2 wks post op for a TAH BSO. I had no bladder repair but I did have urine leakage prior to the surgery. My DR felt that removing my uterus which was over 2# when the normal is .10# may clear that problem. Only time would tell if I might need bladder surgery. I am wondering if it is still just swelly belly that is causing it. I am hoping. I would appreciate my sisters feedback.

How are you doing with the all important pelvic floor exercises?

Try doing them whilst on the loo, (not mid flow, apparently thats not too good for you) you can really pull them up and believe me it will make a difference.
If however you PF muscles are fine maybe you could talk to your Dr, sometimes they can get you to use small weights that you put into the vagina like tampons and you have to try to keep them there, does wonders for your sex life once you have tip top PFMs

I had leaking prior to surgery...like when i moved or got up from sitting, when my stomach muscles were stressed.

after the TAH, the stress incontinence stopped--i think the fibroid was squishing my bladder.

however, 5 weeks after TAH i started leaking again--this time from the vagina. it turned out to be a vesico vaginal fistula.

It is a kind of personal subject but w/this website, I can ask just about anything. I don't think it is a fistula b/c I am not leaking from the vagina. As for the pelvic floor exercises, I think mine are ok but when you mentioned sex, I couldn't help but remember the episode of the Sopranos when Tony was having an affair w/this twinkie and they were at the zoo. All we saw was the 2 of them standing there obviously engaged in something I am not yet permmitted to do, but there was no movement. She was doing it totally w/her muscles. To develop that ability would be an intriguing reward for going through all this AGGRAVATION. I can just imagine my DH face now.... I will look into that - even if it doesn't stop the leaking - it may put a on our faces.
