post op difficulties

I had a lap abdominal hysterectomy on 3/10/04 due to numerous fibroids causing excessive bleeding. I was anemic going into the surgery. In addition, one of the fibroids was so big they had to remove it thru the vagina. I was released from the hospital the next day and a day later had a fever over 101. I was hospitalized for 5 days as my temperature rose to 104.5. The fever finally subsided. The doctors never figured out why my temp rose high. They gave me mega antibiotics but did not think it was due to an infection (another medical mystery). I am now 6 weeks post op. The symptom that is most bothersome at this point (aside from the fatigue which I expected) is my skin gets hot (face, arms, neck etc) with a sweaty, clammy feeling). My doctor has run blood work recently and all is normal. I kept both ovaries since the doctor said they looked fine at surgery. I started a lose dose of estrogen about a week ago also. I am not sure if my ovaries are just not working right yet due to shock or what. Has anyone else had these type of symptoms? I no longer have a fever. My body feels so out of sync at this point. I tried to go back to work after 4 weeks out but had to take another two weeks. I am going back next week part time. Thanks for any feedback.

My system was really out of wak for a while also. I never did get any help with estrogen and I know what you mean about skin feeling hot then cold. I t only lasted a couple of weeks for me with that. The rest of the body is getting slowl y back to normal with exception of the BM. It does take time hopefully it will resolve itself soon for you.
