Chemo #4/Journals/Catch Up
Morning all you beautiful ladies
I don't get to the board often anymore. My life is being lived in three week cycles. Chemo, then down for a week....the next week kinda feelin' like a human.....the next week feeling pretty good so I overdo it every day. Then here we go again!!!
Chemo #4 is this Wednesday. I'm getting pretty wore down from it all. I have managed so far to get my weight up to around 101 each chemo, only to lose it all again down to 96 by a few days after chemo. and the stomach cramps are horrendous. I am so tired of hurting all the time. Anyone else have that problem while on chemo? I certainly hope it goes away afterwards.
Hey! Something new at HysterSisters....the Journals!! How neat! I just glanced at two of them, but are they for us 'cancer concern' people too? Or are they meant only for people who have had 'normal hyst'?

Chemo #4/Journals/Catch Up
The journals are for everyone --- the ones that are visible when you go to the Journals page are those of a few women who have volunteered /were selected from many interested - to share their journeys and who are "always visible". They have made a a commitment to post a new entry on a regular basis (I think it is every 48- or maybe 72 hours.... I don't remember)....
HOWEVER!
Everyone who is a crown jewel has their own journal page, which can be "open to all" for reading, or private. To make your own, you just go to the Journal page, and follow the prompt asking if you want to create your journal. Once you have done that, and if you let it remain open to the public to read, you get a Journal click point on your side bar, under your avatar (look left and see what I mean).
Hope that clarifies it for you.
I'm sorry to hear that the chemo treatments are so very wearing--- I wish I had a good suggestion for you - but I really know very little about chemo.
How many more treatments do you think you need to have?
wishing you well,

Observant....not
Oh for cryin' outloud..I've been on here since last October and never noticed all that to the left and what it meant!!
If anyone finds my brain, please send it home!!!
I really should get those crown jewels. It helps the site stay in business, doesn't it?
I have three more chemos to go. April 28, May 19, and June 9. and hopefully, that will be it. I will have checkups every three months for the first two years.
Thanks so much for explaining all of that to me

Chemo #4/Journals/Catch Up
Dear nancy,
I just completed my 8th cycle of chemo last week. The week of chemo is the hardest for me. I was really feeling crappy last week because my Gyne/Onc is trying to max out my Carboplatin next cycle which is my last one. I get really bad abdominal pain, it hurts to take a deep breath. I also have alot of constipation for the 1st 5 days and then bad diarrhea which lasts 2 days. It scared me at first but after realising it was a cycle I relaxed and that seemed to make me feel better also. I am glad the website I posted helped you. I don't know if you have had any problems with your taste. The week I receive chemo everything I taste is awful. It is such a let down when you can eat and know what something will taste like and then bite into it and it tastes like crap!!! I found if my mouth tastes awful and I suck on a cinnamon altoid that helps alot. Oh well I feel if thats all I have to complain about I am very lucky, as long as it works. Hope you feel better.

Oh yes, that bad taste. It seems to affect me the whole first week and then it eases off.
How many more chemos will you have to have?
I hope you are at the end of them, or at least very close.
I have a real problem with water. Evidently, i am associating the taste of water with chemo. So they are easing up a bit on making me drink 8 glasses a day. It really does no good when you can't keep it down.
I'm doing good on gingerale, lemonade and Tang though. But it remains to be seen what they will taste like this week after chemo though.

Dear Nancy,
I have 1 more chemo treatment. Then a CT Scan. I am sort of scared about not getting chemo. What will keep my cancer from coming back? I guess everyone goes through that. Try to relax and it really makes the pain less.
