Scared Complications, Possible Hematoma?
Hi everyone. Wow, the past few days have really been rough. I had my LAVH 13 days ago. Had a really extreme bout of pain about 1 week ago. Called my doctor as I have had serious post-op/post-delivery complications in the past that were life threatening. There wasn't any blood at the time and we were all hopeful that this would be the end of our worries. My doctor asked that I keep in really close contact with her. For the past few days I have been having terrible "attacks" of pain where I can't stand, or even sit or lie down. I am doubled over and have found myself crawling across the floor writhing in pain. They last about 90 minutes and leave me exhausted. There is no rhyme or reason to them, no pattern that I can discern and they are so very frightening. Up till now my discharge (sorry) has be slight as pretty much as expected. Today I had a terrible outpouring of bright red blood that I could feel come before it even happened. After feeling quite strong initially post-op I can now see I am really struggling, and it is very evident even on my face. Because of a labour dispute here by health workers (not physicians) it is impossible to get through to find my surgeon. It is a real heartache for patients here. I saw my family doctor when my surgeon was unreachable and she was very concerned. Through a lab test she was able to determine that I have signs of infection (bacteria) as I had white blood cells and blood in the sample. That was even before the events of this afternoon when I started to bleed so very much. She tried to reach my surgeon herself and had to be extremely assertive before the office staff would even page my surgeon for her. Finally she talked to my surgeon and she too is very concerned. She mentioned that at this point they don't know where the infection is coming from, as it does not seem to fit the profile for UTI/Bladder infection, they just know something has a strong hold. I have started to spike fevers on and off now too. My surgeon wonders if I have a hematoma on the vaginal cuff and wants an ultrasound done as soon as possible. Unfortunately with the job action in the hospitals no ultrasounds are being done and the clinics have to take the extra backlog. The only time available in our whole community is 8:30 PM tomorrow night. I am thankful I have any time at all under the circumstances. My surgeon will be seeing me tomorrow morning, as there is virtually nothing that can be done for me even in the hospitals tonight. Because there is no hospital support staff in the office I can't make an appointment or even phone through, so I just am to show up. Wow, this is tough. Tonight I have started bleeding again...I am holding on to hope that everything will be ok...but as the bleeding continues and time goes by it isn't easy. God brought me through and showed me many miracles on my day or surgery, I pray I will experience the same through this difficult time.

Blessings
I will for you and that all will go well. I am glad you will be seeing your dr tomorrow and the test tomorrow night. I hope this will give light to the problem so you can be treated for your pain and bleeding.
This is terrible that they are having a labor dispute and patients are having to be set aside until they can get the attention they need.
Please, let us know how you do. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Seeing Doctor In A Matter Of Hours
I am going in to be seen by my surgeon early this morning. Because of the labour dispute here I don't have an appointment or anything, but my surgeon will be waiting for me and I am just to come. The hospitals are so back-logged right now that there is no place for me and tests are at a stand still. Later tonight at 8:30 PM I will be having an ultrasound. A possible Hematoma on the suture line is still the predicted problem and infection is coming from somewhere. Hope that everything will be ok and resolve soon. I am trying to be really brave, but I am feeling scared. Blessings.
