My dr put Silver Nitrate on my incision today for granulation.. It didnt burn any but it has been itching like crazy since he done it.. Has anyone else had to have Silver Nitrate put on there incision?? If so did it itch and is that normal?? :hair: I will just be glad when I get over this and can go on with my normal life..
After my C-section I had an area of my incision cauterized with silver nitrate...the itching can be a sign that the tissue is finally healing. If it continues or gets worse give your doctor a call. Hopefully it will now heal quickly.
I had a LAVH 4/14/04 and have had to have silver nitrate used 3 times on one of my incisions. The first time it burned so bad, I could have sworn that the dr. was pouring hot lava in me. The other 2 times haven't been bad. I don't have the itching but about an hour after I am real sore in that area. I would call the dr. and ask if that is a sign of healing or are you having a reaction to it.
I had an LAVH on 3/2 and had silver nitrate applied on granulation tissue in the navel as well on the vaginal cuff area. Both times it stung when applied and there was some itching afterward and then a blackish discharge. It lasted for a couple of days.
If you continue to have itching or pain in the area I would call the doctor.
I am trying to find out if anyone had silver nitrate put on there incision did it cause it to get raw around the area?? I had SN put on mine yesterday and this morning it was real raw all around it.. Kinda looks gross too.. I was just wondering if that was normal or do I need to put yet another call in to my dr
