Losing weight.. is that normal?
I just got back from my Dr's having my staples removed. Joy! He had to tape me all up because he said the incision wasn't healed enough. He left one staple in the center to still hold it.
Any way. I got weighed and have lost 8 pounds in the one week since the operation. My appitites not been that good and I didn't eat hardly anything in the hospital. I have heard so many comments and concerns on issues of weight gain. Didn't know if there was something more wrong with me.
Im not complaining at all because I am on the fluffy side. Just wondered if this was the norm for this type of surgery.

Losing weight.. is that normal?
I too have lost some weight. My appetite hasn't been all that great either. Think it might have to do with our bodies going through so much trauma. My DH keeps telling me to eat so that I can heal properly. I'm trying! I am trying to get lots of fruits and veggies in me and also am trying to drink tons of water. Hang in there.

Weight loss
I am almost 4 wks post-op and have gone down 4 slacks sizes- not that I am complaining, but my appetite has not been the best either- maybe the body is happy to get rid of it's "burden" (huge fibroids etc) in the surgery and can now normalize again (this is my THEORY and I'm stickin' to it!) No medical evidence would ever support that, but I feel better than I have for a long time prior to the OR.

Losing weight.. is that normal?
According to my scales this morning I have lost 5 lbs. Yipee! That's a first. Lay around and do nothing and still lose weight without exercising! Something tells me this will not last. My appetite is now starting to get better. I figure the weight loss is from all the yucky stuff I had removed. When I first went to the doctor he told me I had a BIG uterus. Boy did that make me mad. I wanted to say, Well you are bald but I don't hold that against you! As I explained to my DH, a woman does not want to hear the word BIG used to describe her body parts!!

Losing weight.. is that normal?
I have lost a total of 24 pounds since January--without "trying"--I was WAY TOO heavy (pushing 200) anyway. After four kids and turning 40 in the near future, I am glad to get it off. I hope it keeps on going.
I had been doing some Yoga before the op, and believe me, I can't get into the positions now, but I DO MISS IT! Maybe I finally found an exercise program that I can actually stick with. You don't usually think of Yoga as exercise, but it is. A lot of stretching and holding in place, and plus the breathing can actually help your tummy get firmer.
I'm not looking at this as a miracle cure, and I know it won't last if I go back to eating everything in sight like I did last year to get heavy. I miss my size 8 jeans. I hope to be back in them soon. It's a shame to have an entire closet full of clothes that you can't button or zip. Well, closet, here I come!

Losing weight.. is that normal?
I too had lost 8 lbs after just one week. I am too scared to weigh myself now. I'll wait until I go back to the doc and see how it goes then. I'll keep my fingers crossed. My appetite hasn't been all that, which is fine with me. I am eating, but I just feel like I actually have control right now and am not really interested in sweets. I was really bloated before surgery and it has all gone away. Yes!!! Thank you Dear Lord!!!!

Losing weight.. is that normal?
Lucky you, I am five weeks post op and have not gone down a pound...I eat normal, but it is hard for me to walk the dogs etc. I am really depressed, I thought I'd lose a few pounds and whala, all I have now is a swollen belly that looks like I have a bowling ball inside...
I am really hoping this will go away soon! I can't stand it.
Good luck and don;t loose too much weight...
