3 weeks post op infection

I was doing so well after surgery and THEN.......almost 3 weeks post op started feeling kinda crumy. Laid around in bed one day, tried to get motivated the next and then the fever hit. Called my doctor, of course this happened on a Sunday, they called in a prescrip for antibiotics. Monday morning around 3 am got the chills, thought I was going to shake my eye balls out, fever spiked to 105,, thats when DH called 911. By the time they arrived fever was at 103, they took me to ER. Long story short, I spent 3 days in hospital, they drained some areas of fluid, but really couldn't find out where infection was. Spent 36 hours with several differant kinds of antibiotics being pushed through my body. This was the worst 36 hours I've ever endured. Once I kept a fever away for 12 hours and they had put enough drugs in to kill any bacteria known to man they sent me home. I'm feeling great again. OH yeah forgot to tell, had to have a pelvic exam , I thought that was really going to hurt since I was only 3 weeks post op, but doctor was very gentle and all was okay.
SO if you start feeling bad and get a fever of any kind, be sure to call your doctor RIGHT AWAY, don't wait till fever hits 105, cuz it ain't fun.
Hope all of you are doing well, and getting stronger.

I'm so sorry you had to go thru all that -- glad you're feeling better!

I was just thinking this morning that it seems like many complications can come up even weeks after surgery. Very good advice you gave. (Can't imagine having internal that soon w/VH...glad your Dr. was gentle. )
