Defective patches, skin change.... what?????

I have been on the Vivelle patch for 8 weeks and am doing well. The only problem I've encountered is that suddenly the patches are coming off. I've started a new box of patches this week and I've had to replace one every day because they won't stay on. I always rotate the site for the patch. This hasn't happened before. Could it be a defective batch I wonder? I finally put duct tape on this one to keep it on. I had laughed when I read where one sister had done that but now I understand! Any answers?

Hi!

Since you have experience with them staying on without any problem and now with a new box they aren't sticking I'd wager you're right about it being a defective box. I'd try returning them to the pharmacy where you got them and explain the problem. Maybe they'd let you exchange them for a different batch.

to the mental image of sticking them on with duct tape. The things we go through!

Defective patches, skin change.... what?????

I was at a dance recital, of all places, tonight and i was speaking to a friend. she asked how i was doing on my patch (climara). The man next to her got interested in our conversation at this point.. I said "Wow its great i just slap it on my butt once a week and forget about it...." If i could have taken a pic of his face at that point... haha. he prob thought it was a smoking cessation patch... funny...and true we do go thru alot...

Defective patches, skin change.... what?????

Etbell,
I had the same problem just about this time last year and it continued into the latter summer months. I finally called the manufacture of the Vivelle patch. There comments to me were, and it really did make sense for me anyway, that when the weather warms up and even gets pretty hot, your body is producing more sweat and along with the sweat, there is more oils in your pores. I always used alcohol before I put my patches on and I also rotate them. For most of last summer. I tried a few different patches, but once the weather started to cool, I wenr back to my Vivell do patchec. They are after all my best friend!!!
Hope this helps..

Cindy

Thanks for the help everyone. Guess I'll try the alcohol Cindy. It gets soooo hot and humid where I live in the summer. This might be a trial. I so love the Vivelle!
