Hrt Or Natural ?
I AM 35 YRS OLD AND I HAD A TOTAL HYSTO ALMOST 2 MONTHS AGO. WHEN I WOKE UP AFTER SURGERY I HAD ON A HORMONE REPLACEMENT PATCH AND WAS SENT HOME WITH A PRESCRIPTION FOR ESTRADIOL 5 MG. I HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH ON HRT AND NATURAL HERBS. THERE IS SO MUCH CONTROVERSY ON BOTH AND I AM VERY CONFUSED ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT TO CONTINUE WITH THE PATCH OR TRY OVER THE COUNTER HERBS OR CREAMS. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE SOME INPUT FROM ANYONE THAT HAS BEEN IN MY POSITION. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO SEND ALL OF MY SYMPATHY OUT TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEMS SINCE YOUR SURGERIES. I CAN RELATE TO MOST OF YOU BUT THERE ARE OTHERS THAT HAVE HAD A REALLY HARD TIMEOF IT. I AM THANKFUL THAT A DILEMMA OVER HORMONE THERAPY IS MY MAIN PROBLEM.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!

Hrt Or Natural ?
I had to have my ovaries removed, so I went on the Climara patch while in the hospital. It did work well for about a month and then I developed a lump under my left arm--in the lymph node. I am now on the Vivelle dot and I love it. It is a plant based estrogen--made from yams. I have not had even one hot flash or night sweat while on it.
There is also an article in this months edition of Good Housekeeping magazine and it mentions the Vivelle Dot as a good choice if you want to use a "natural" form of estrogen.~Moonchime

Hrt Or Natural ?
I am not taking HRT. I am taking homeopathic/naturopathic supplements and am doing wonderfully. I was scared of HRT for one thing. Another, my mom got a blood clot last year from Evista and I was told that our blood just clots.
Best wishes to you. If you are interested in what I am taking, just send me a PI or an email.
Many Prayers!!!

Hi
This concerns me too and while there are lots of studies I do not believe anyone has THE answer
I am on the V dot patch and so far doing fine but I am only 10 days post op.
I am 46 and the Dr. says she will most likely try to wean me off the hormones in 5 or 6 years.
I know the options are so confusing. You have to consider family history, what you feel comfortable with, age, etc.
I pray you make the right decision for you.
Please be careful as sometimes people in these industries make false claims because they just want to sell you something . Some are very dedicated to trying to help but others are snake oil salesman. I think you just research and then go with your choice and pray for the best. It's also a good idea to keep up on your system, like tests for bone loss, hormone levels, general blood work, just to try to make sure you are receiving only positive effects and no ill ones.

Hrt Or Natural ?
I am 48 and had both ovaries removed. I can't take the estrogen as the birth control pill use to always make me so depressed. Has anyone else ever had that problem? Anyway the doctor gave me samples of remifemin which is black cohosh. And I did take that before and it really helped with all the symptoms. Is anyone else taking black cohosh?

Hrt Or Natural ?
Hi
Just my for what it's worth. I was on premien .0625 for about 2 months and didn't do very well on it. I had so many symptoms. I decided that i wanted bio-idential hormones. So i found a Dr. that would proscribe them for me. I feel so much better now then i did before. I feel more like my old self.

Hrt Or Natural ?
I had surgery 3/24 and my dr said she wanted to wait to see what symptoms I have. I had slight night sweats before the surgery ( I am 45) and now have flashes that last about 20-30 seconds ( and are only from my neck up- I do not look like I am flasing to others) a couple times a day. I have noticed my hair feels dryer but nothing else so far. Any ones Dr not want them to take anything?
