Sunny Saturday May 8
Good morning.
Just thought I'd get the day's thread started.
Yesterday was OP foodwise and hydration wise. Didn't get outdoors for my walk but did some walking at K-mart and Walmart and also worked out in the evening.
Today's a First Communion party in the afternoon and I'm preparing myself to make good food decisions!
Weighed in this morning at 145, which is 2 lbs up from my current low. But I'm not discouraged, since it's entirely explainable--I've been eating unwisely. No mystery about that!
Last week's personal challenge was not good foodwise, but in terms of hydration it was probably at 90%, and exercise about 75%.
Well, must get a few things done so I can enjoy the weekend.
Blessings.
Marlene

Subdivision Saturday
Good morning everyone!!!
It's Saturday!!! whooo hoooooooo!!
I'm so glad to read that Melissa is doing well! Pat, I'll be looking forward to your report.
Yesterday was so busy that I forgot to eat lunch! Then I found myself at a track meet that ran late, in fact was still going on at the time I was supposed to be at the next event, a jewelry party .. .so I bought a hotdog at the concessions stand & split a pop with dh. I decided that was better than going to a party starving. I knew there'd be tons of very non-OP food there. It worked, I didn't even nibble! Well, except on a pair of really cute turquoise earrings. Had to have them.
Today is another track meet, groceries, and other errands. Must figure out tomorrow's menu, Dad and the in-laws will be here. 14 yr old dd wants to make dessert as my Mother's Day gift. Cute. So we'll shop for that today & of course there'll be no "just a sliver"ing going on. I'll eat it with gusto...you know how I feel about the cooking efforts of the children!!
I want to say Hello to all of the new BEST sisters! I'm so glad you're here, you will find wonderful support !! Everyone here "gets it"!
Wishing you all well with your OPness and here's hoping the sun peeks out at us, every one!
Thanks for everything ladies,
xena

 Good Morning!
Had my first visit at Curves last Thursday, and I go for my first workout on Tuesday. Here's what I thought about my first visit:
It felt a little too busy for me....too much confusion happening. Ok, in their defense though it is brand new and I am sure there are lots of things that will smooth out once they get more settled. The machines look a little intimidating and I am having some anxiety whether I will be able to use them properly. I don't want to embarrass myself. Several ladies I've talked to that have also joined said their first visit they were given a mini tour of some of the machines and expalined how they work, but when I went the lady that took care of me didn't do that. Oh well, guess I'll find out about them soon enough anyway. It was quite an eye opener to see written in my file what I need to loose to accomplish my goals.....it felt pretty overwhelming! But I am going to just go and do my workouts and not think about that too much.
Ronda~ Welcome to BEST...It's great to have you here! Good Luck on the SBD!
I have a very busy day planned for today, but I'll be sure to take time to eat and drink op'ly though.
Hope you all have the BEST Weedend!
Take Care, Dawn

Sunny Saturday May 8
Hello!
It's another sunny Saturday, at least for now. It will be interesting trying to fit the walk in today. Yesterday worked out because DH and I were at a mall when the storm hit. Got the walking done inside and I didn't buy anything so it was win-win as far as DH is concerned!
No plans so far for today which is rare. I suppose DD and I will finally get to the grocery store to stock up on SBD food for her start on Phase 1.
Welcome to all the new BEST ladies! Great support here, no doubt about it!
Time to go drink more water and get some breakfast.

Good morning ladies. Hope you are all doing well. My week was OP all around, and I like that feeling. Though last night I didn't feel like cooking so I grabbed a salad from Chic-Fil-A, and used one of my salad dressings at home. UnPlanned, but perfectly OP. Nothing but housework instore for me. DSw comes up nextweekend and I have to figure out my honey-do list. (ceiling fan!)
The new eating gig: Down 6lbs we'll see how it goes in the next (less shocking) week.
Bridges: Welcome! Good luck with your journey. Health issues are indeed quite motivating when it comes to wanting to lose weight.
Dawn: At the Curves I've been to, (including when I first signed up), you have to schedule your first workout with someone there. They show you how to do each machine and do the entire 30 minutes with you. Don't stress over it ... you'll see they are easy-peasy. Looking forward to your reprot back after your first workout!
Time to get moving! Have a BEST day everyone!

Hi everyone! Welcome Rhonda! Please read my comments to you in your Journal. I just came back from one of my most favorite things to do.......Yard Sales!!!!! I made out like a bandit. I am having one of my own sometime in June! The funny thing about it is last summer, DH and I would eat a big breakfast, then go to sales for about 2 hours and then come home starved and eat some more. Well, today I had a nice OP breakfast and came home and was only thirsty. I think that is progress. Today will continue to be OP and a walk later on is in order today.
Marlene, you are at my probable goal weight right now.
Dawn, please have one of the instructors show you the machines. I was intimidated the first two or three times I went.
xena, How do you get your kids to cook for you?
Donna, Tell your DD good luck for me with the SBD!
Bobby, Congrats on the 6 pound loss!!!!
Oh, I almost forgot........I had a MO moment today. I saw a woman I have not seen in quite sometime at one of the yard sales. She asked if I lost some weight and said that I am looking good. She asked me what diet I was following and when I told her the SBD, she said " well it's working!"
Emily s for all the BEST ladies!

Hi everyone!
It's so good to read the progress of all my sisters! I am motivated each time I log in!
Curves is going well. And Dawn, the first 2 times I did feel a bit self-conscious. The second time I went there were only a few people there and the instructor said to me - oops! You are going the wrong way! DUH!! Now I don't give it a second thought because in 30-seconds, everyone else is trying to do their own thing too so I don't really think they are paying attention to me. I took the advice of the sisters here and am only doing the 30-minute circuit. Right now I'm only doing 3 days a week. I might try 4 days next week; I'm undecided.
I have gained weight! But my eating has been outrageous. Today I'm working on drinking my water and eating no sugar.
I have also been walking on my off Curves days. Today I think I'll do Denise Austin.
Well, gang, my house is a mess so I'd better get my family up and moving. DS has a girlfriend and he wants to bring her over. What an incentive for him to help me clean!!!
Best wishes to everyone for a BEST day!
love,
Sherry

Hi all,
I didn't get to pop in after DS' soccer game yesterday as I had planned. (He scored the only goal and it was a tie. ) However, right after the game a severe storm hit our area. We traveled in it for 50 minutes on the way home--winds of up to 60 mph and terrible flooding. Even with my Explorer I had to drive in the middle on the streets on higher ground. We passed trees down with roads blocked and in some cases cars trapped in between the trees. Finally got home to find two trees down in our driveway, one dangling precariously broken 30 feet up, and a huge tree on our garage. That tree is also being held up by another tree and it could fall on our house as well. Will be calling the insurance company as soon as they open. BTW DS rode the bus home from the game and they stopped at Hardee's for an hour and a half waiting for it to get better. He finally got home 3 hours later. Thank goodness for cell phones. I know this is off topic, but it affected my eating, but not in the worst way. Hi all,

Finally got home to find two trees down in our driveway, one dangling precariously broken 30 feet up, and a huge tree on our garage. That tree is also being held up by another tree and it could fall on our house as well. Have called insurance company and tree surgeons and am waiting on them to call/show up. BTW DS rode the bus home from the game and they stopped at Hardee's for an hour and a half waiting for it to get better. He finally got home 3 hours later. (Thank goodness for cell phones.) As soon as he got home, the electricity came back on. I know this is all off topic, but it affected my eating, but not in the worst way. Dinner was a soda, potato chips, and some walnuts. Then we were conversing with the neighbors and I took the glass of wine offered. Adrenalin is still pumping--maybe that will help burn off any extra calories.
Yesterday I did wear jeans I hadn't worn in a while. The night before I tried on a bunch more dresses that now fit. One I had worn to the neighbors wedding we were conversing with last night. Found out they got married 6 years ago--so that's where I am again-- !
Love reading about everyone's accomplishments!! Will check back in to give kudos later--have to keep the phone line clear right now.
 s,
Shirley

Hiya MizGH ... and nope, I took a break from JC while I was saving up the last bit for my new Car. I've stayed on hiatus (been about a month now) while we work on building our "fun-money" savings account back up. I still go to the gym every day and get weighed and measured there monthly. I recently checked back in with my nutritionist and hence the wonky eating last week ... with good results.
aiight, lunch break over ... back to cleaning I go!
BSQ
ps: Shirley glad you all are OK ... hopefully the down trees do no further damage to your property!

Sunny Saturday May 8
Hello to all my new BEST friends on this beautiful day!!!!
Today found me taking my dd to a birthday party! A SWIM party no less!!! (no adults swam---well, the mom hosting the party jumped in after a lil' one that was barely holding her head up gulping!!! Nice save! ) I was SO proud of myself!!! I had not told anyone I was "being good"---and this one served lunch! I did stay OP!!! I drank ice water instead of soda's or punch! I complimented the cake---but steered clear! When hotdogs were served, I only ate the wiener---put in my salad bowl I had brought with me!! I ignored the chip bowl! Took my 15 almonds with me for my afternoon snack!
I met a lady there who also has PCOS---and weight issues(more than mine!) I told her about what I was doing and she wants to join me in my quest!!! Her lil' girl is also 7, so they can play together while we get moving and try to loose!!! I am a week ahead of her, but thought I might stay on the Phase 1 of SBD an extra week--to encourage her! It was neat---a week ago, I would not have believed I could have made the choices I did and not feel hungry!! We are even going to do water aerobics together and start walking together!!!
Oh...I wore an outfit that I had not worn in a while and it fit better than it did last summer!!! That always is fun!!!
I weighed in today and I had lost 7#!!!
Thanks for the welcomes!!!
Tomorrow we are going to an outdoor BBQ for Mother's day...Outdoor means I will stay on track for activity!!! There is plenty to do...walk the creek-bed, up and down the hills! The meal is going to be easy for me to stay OP...I will take a Salad and my snacks that are OP! I will be able to drink all my H2O for the day too...being out like that, I always do! I bought up extra bottled waters to take with me!
Have the BEST week-end and I will check in sometime tomorrow!!!
Hugs,
Ronda
