Question about Vaginal Cuff Healing

Do anyone out there know what goes on when your vaginal cuff starts to heal. I know everyone heals differently and faster than others. But I just wanted to know what some of the things that I could expect. I don't want to freak out and panic when it starts to happen. And also what goes on at your 4 week post-op check up from your surgery date? Do they just check your inscion and do a mini internal exam?

thanks for your replies.

Question about Vaginal Cuff Healing

Hi Jane,

As your vaginal cuff starts to heal, you may have some spotting or even see bits of suture material being passed. And then again, you may not. (I didn't.) You may also have what's best described as "zingers", sharp, shooting pains through the area or through your abdomen, usually located on one side more than the other. These are usually caused by the nerves regenerating, but if those pains get severe or are accompanied by large amounts of red blood or discharge or fever, please be sure to call your doctor.

Every doctor is different, but at my four week exam, my doctor checked my incision, and did a pelvic exam. I only had one post-op exam, so yours may be different if you're going to see your doctor again at a later time.

s,

Lisa
