gall bladder problems

I have to say, i don't know at this moment in time. I am having issues, and a couple of people have spoken to me about gall bladder, but have just begun investigation with gp.
What exactly are symptoms of gall bladder problems?

gall bladder problems

Had my gall bladder removed when I was 16 years old. I had 12 gallstones........symptoms are sharp pains in side......its been sooooo long im trying to remember. Mine was sharp pains in or aroung the ribs and the pains would get worse everytime I would take a breath......I walked around for 2 weeks hurting....my mom thought it was gas....ive never known gas to stay trapped for that long....went to the dr and next thing i knew i was having surgery. They said it is rare for someone that young to have to have gallbladder surgery. Glad its gone though.

gall bladder problems

Hi,
I voted yes, but I should qualify my answer. After a couple of years on HRT I had an ultrasound done for something unrelated and it showed that I had polyps in my gallbladder. Seventeen years later, and I still haven't had any symptoms of problems with them, and fingers crossed hopefully it will stay that way..

Cheers,
Christine

I marked needed surgery as I am scheduled to have mine on 5 days. Been giving me problems for at least 3 weeks now. This is 16 months after my TAH.

gall bladder problems

I voted no because I had mine taken out before my hyst. But my gall bladder did give me problems right after the birth of my second son. I had surgery to take it out 8 months after he was born. Alot of women have problems with the gall bladder either after giving birth, or having a hyst. My dr told me this when I had mine taken out! He said he sees it alot. I had no gall stones, but my gall bladder just quit working.

already gone

I already had my gallbladder removed when my first child was all of a month old (and wouldn't you know with my luck, that I was restricted to only lifting things UNDER 10 pounds for 4 weeks after surgery, and my infant son was already 12 pounds!).

gall bladder problems

I had some bad stomach type spasms or sharp pains on my right side up by the rib cage after my surgery. My gyno is convinced I have gallbladder problems, but I have never had any problems before my TVH.
So, I have gone in for an ultrasound which was unclear, a CT scan which showed NO gallstones and now my internist wants for me to have a HIDA scan done on Monday to check the gallbladder function.
I don't know why they are so set that there is something wrong. I feel fine. I have not had any horrid pains or the vomiting that I hear are associated with this.
So, we shall see what happens. I don't think I want to go thru another major surgery again so soon after my TVH.
