Vitamin E suppository

I just read on this forum that there is a vitamin E suppository. Has anyone tried it, or even just the vit. E capsules? Are they really messy?

I have had vaginal atrophy (hate that word) for a few yrs. and I couldn't use any hormone cream or ring, and I've tried them all. They made me bleed by the 2nd wk., even tho I was assured they were only topical. Even tho I've had my hys., I've decided against hormones of any kind, so I'm thinking the Vit. E might be worth a try.

If anyone's tried it, I'd appreciate hearing how it worked. Thanks.

Vitamin E suppository

Hi (((Sheila))) I've used the suppositories. I tried them before I started using vaginal estriol cream. They were soothing, better than Replens or KY Long Lasting but not quite as effective as the estrogens. I didn't find them that messy... just popped one in at night before bed so it wouldn't slip out as it melted.

I haven't tried using a Vitamin E capsule, but perhaps someone will come along here who's tried them.

-Linda

Vitamin E suppository

Thanks so much, Linda. I'm going to look for the suppositories. Everything feels okay now, but I'm still on restriction from relations; although I know atrophy can be a problem even w/o that.

Hope this does the trick. Thanks again.

vitamin E

You could also try rubbing vitamin E oil around the area. I used that during my pregnancy to try to prevent tearing and to strengthen the skin. Good luck!

Vitamin E Suppository

Due to previous breast cancer, I am not a candidate for any type of estrogen according to my ob/gyn & oncologist. I have developed vulvar atrophy and the vitamin E suppository sounds like a plan for me. I'm assuming they're OTC?

Also, does anyone know anything about Herpes II?

Vitamin E suppository

Hi DDee You can find Vitamin E suppositories OTC; I found them doing a google search. You can also have a compounding pharmacist make them up for you.

Since Herpes II isn't a hysterectomy related condition, we don't have a lot of information on it here, but you might check out this fact sheet:

I hope this helps.
