Classic symptoms I had before diagnosis. What causes it - prostaglandins possibly which increase inflammation. See if an antiprostaglandin is available at your pharmacy. Mine was there most of the time but because it was an ovarian adhesion it was really bad around ovulation and through to when I would have had my period. With no ovaries it shouldn't follow any pattern but it would be interesting to see. Since we seem similar in some other respects then maybe your prostaglandins are doing what mine did. Estrogen can sometimes increase the bad ones - didn't you raise your dose recently? I think I may have been on too high a dose before adhesion removal and it caused me more pain than it should have.
Hugs to you,

feel like I"m getting my period (impossible I know)

Gidge,
I too occasionally get the feeling like I'm about to start my period, cramping, achey, moody. I had a TVH so adhesions are possible although not as likely I don't believe as those who have had an abdominal hyst. I still have my ovaries so I still have that cyclic hormonal release. I don't have the symptoms every month. But I do know that the bowel is very receptive and influenced by prostaglandlins and I just assumed that it was bowel cramping. I was also diagnosed about 8 weeks postop with fibromyalgia so part of my pain could be from that also. Whatever it is it's not as bad as it was before I had my hyst, so I just try to deal with it and use my ibuprofen 800mg as needed for it. If it gets more frequent or bothersome than I figure I'll get it checked out. Hope that helps
Anne

Gidge,
I keep running into messages from you on different threads about your pain. I wrote a longer message on Srosier's thread about Aches and Pains a year later that I think you would be interested in too. I Hope it helps you out too
