Anyone have side effects with Vit E?

I tried Vitamin E, the 400 units (is that the word?), but I finally figured out that all the bruises I was getting had to be from the Vit E. Sure, nuff--I stopped taking the Vit E and the bruises went away.

Was I doing something wrong? Has anyone else had any problems like this?

Vitamin E does have some anticoagulant properties, so that may be what was causing your problem

I take 400 IU of Vit E daily and I do bruise more easily, but it is not severe.

When I had my pre-op interview with the hospital, the admitting nurse wanted to know *exactly* what supplements I was taking. She told me to stop the Vit E two weeks prior to surgery (along with aspirin, ibuprofen and garlic!)
