Anxiety Meds

Hello sisters!

I was wondering what experience you all had with anxiety meds. I take Effexor and WellburtinXR both at 150 mg a day.

I hate taking meds but I have anxiety a lot and need to take something.
I also take 88mg of Synthroid for Hoshimoto's Thyroiditis. I've tried every holistic pill out there before I gave in and started these meds.

All advice and info welcome!

Anxiety Meds

I'm on Lexapro and my anxiety has never been better.
I started out on Paxil .. gave me diarrhea so switched to Celexa .. gained about 15 lb. so switched to Lexapro and it's been awesome. My anxiety used to lead to panic attacks and since being on the Lexapro, if I feel a hint of anxiety coming on, it's gone in a matter of minutes.
A change in my surroundings (and my routine) usually sets off anxiety and I was very concerned about my post-op mental health (talk about a life change!) but I have been fine.
Might want to give your Dr. a call! It has certainly changed my life for the better.
Keep in touch.

Post Op Meds

Thanks Arborkat!

I am worried about post op meds. I went to my general practitioner after I had the staples removed last thurs and he didn't say a word. I had my partner come in as well because of the fibro fog and the added hysterectomy fog I was sure I would forget some things. The guy was a cattle driver. I need to find a new DR soon!!!!
He reccommended my GYN that''s why I was staying with him. My GYN who is in the same practice even dissagrees with my meds.
HHHHMMMMPPPH!
Thanks again.

Anxiety Meds

Ellen,
I should have mentioned that I keep Ativan in my medicine cabinet, "just in case."
And if I'm going out of town, it does into my purse.
I prefer Xanax but my Dr. likes Ativan. Go figure.
Anyway, if your Drs. can agree on what medicine you can take .. ask them about Xanax or Ativan. Have you ever tried that? It helped me through many a rough patch in my life. Haven't felt the need for it since the Lexapro.
Godspeed ..
