Kept ovaries...so why am I so emotional?

I feel very fortunate that I was able to keep my ovaries after TAH 3/31. However, I cannot explain why I am so moody. Geez! I start crying at the drop of a hat. I grouch at my DH...I don't feel like eating, reading or watching tv.

What's up with this roller coaster?

Sheila,
It sounds like your your ovaries may still be in shock. It is common for them to have a temporary shutdown after a hyst. It can take up to 28 days for them to "wake up." This time frame varies from person to person. You may want to talk to your doctor about hormones for the short term if it gets too bad.

Sheila,

Besides the possibility your ovaries are still snoozing, you just had major surgery and being emotional and on a roller coaster could be related to that also.

I have no magic cure or real advice, but I have >>warm, supportive hugs<< by the millions.

One day at a time, this too will pass.
