Hair changes

Hi sisters!

My hair has changed from super straight (wouldn't even hold a curl) to curly! I remembered awhile ago there was a similar post on this topic and didn't think it could happen to me as my hair was never the type to even hold a perm. I went in for a haircut and over the weekend and my stylist asked why I didn't wear my hair curly, if I just didn't like my curls? I was like my curls!!!??? I have always done my hair after getting right out of the shower and blown it straight, so to my shock now my hair actually looks like I have a perm! Do any of you know what actually causes the the change? Is it the good old hormones? Thanks for any input!

I am confused about this too. My hair was pretty straight, and after surgery it became wavy. Now, 6 months later, it's not going away. Why did it change, what causes it to change? Does it mean something else is wrong with us? I'm not complaining that it's changed, just wondering what's in store. Does that mean we'll get hair loss too like some other women are talking about? Right now my hair volume is good and it is shiny
I did have some hair loss, but it was post-pregnancy, and it was cyclical and has stopped (post-partum hyst). Does hair curl as it ages? So, if we have our hormones cut off surgically, does our body think it suddenly aged?

Mine has been falling out recently. Happens everytime I have anesthesia.

Mine hasn't changed in waviness though. Although, it was already wavy.

So what does that mean my hair is going to be even more curly? LOL, I can see it now, today just curly, tomorrow afro!

I haven't noticed a change in texture, but I'm sure losing a lot of hair when I wash it! I'm attributing it to the anesthesia and stress to my system. I hope it slacks up before I go bald!! Eeeek!

Hair changes

Before I hit puberty I had dead straight hair, a couple of months after I started with Aunt Flo coming to visit it went very wavey.
I now wonder after reading your posts will mine go back to being dead straight after surgery?

Also when I saw my hairdresser after my last op she recomended vit E & B's as a help to the hair loss I suffered at that time.
I don't know if it worked or wether it stopped naturally but my hair is now back to normal.

Hair changes

I'm so relieved after reading the posts about losing hair post-op. I'd never had surgery before my TAH/BSO on June 7 of this year, so I had no experience with the after effects of anesthesia. My hair is long, below my shoulders, and it seems like I've lost enough in the last 3 weeks to make a couple of hairpieces.

My recovery has been a bit tough, and taking longer than average. But it's good to know that this shedding is nothing to worry about. Thank heaven for you ladies, I can relax now!
