relief

This question goes out to any sisters who have had TVT or bladder sling. I'm not sure I know the difference. My doc has referred to it both ways.

Remember the old days when you really, really, really had to go and you rushed to the bathroom (if you were lucky enough to get there in time), sat down and PSSSHHHHHHHHHHHH, oh the relief you felt! Well, my problem is strange. While I can cough, sneeze, or laugh and not wet myself anymore, there is no real relief when I go to the bathroom. It only comes out as a trickle and continues like that until my bladder is empty. Sometimes as long as a minute or more. I can actually feel my bladder shrink, but there is no sense of relief. I have only been a princess for a little less than two weeks, so I don't know if my bladder is still adjusting to the invasion by the doc. There is a little pain while I go and some blood when I wipe. Is this normal?

I am truly greatful that I don't have the earlier problems, but this seems very strange. I have tried to apply pressure like I used to, but this only makes it hurt worse. I can live without the old sense of relief, if I knew what to expect. Anybody have any ideas?

Other than that my recovery seems to be going swimmingly. DH and two teenage DS's are trying their best to pamper me. I intend to take every advantage of that, believe me!

relief

I had the same problem. My surgery was March 8, 2004 and if I let my bladder get to full I still have the problem. I have found that if I squeeze( kind of like a kegal) it does make the stream stonger.

Let me know if this helps
