joint pain

Hi,

I had those exact same symptoms after I lost our baby to miscarriage and had to have a D and C. I thought I had MS or something terrible! After doing research on hormones, I found that it was because I was low in estrogen. I hope this helps.

I have joint pain too...

I posted a message earlier about my HANDS hurting... especially at night, while sleeping. Then they are stiff all day. I don't know what it is! I am surgically menopausal since 6/03 and this started this past March. Maybe it's old age? At 50? I HOPE not!

joint pain

I had the same thing happening to me. I had shoulder pain that radiated down thru my arms into my hands. It was the kind of ache that kept making me think I was getting the flu. I also thought I was getting carpal tunnel. (TAH 2/13/04 - kept ovaries) The aches started around 6 weeks post op.

I would feel good in the am and then have aches in the pm. Some days I was fine and other days I was not. It happened randomly to me. It was very strange and i could never put my finger on what was triggering them.

I searched on this site and found quite a few posts on the same subject. So, it must be related to surgery or it is a big coincidence that seems to be repeating itself over and over.

I read about them being caused by hormones. Then I read that vitamin supplements would help (calcium/magnesium/zinc, Ester C). Then my gyne told me that they were caused by holding my body a certain way (hunched) after surgery to compensate for my incision/abdominal pain. She said that once I started moving around, my joints started to hurt...
I tried the vitamin supplements for awhile, and I tried to stand somewhat upright. (and came to realize that I have terrible posture)

I do not know why, but the joint pain has gone away. I only take a regular vitamin daily, I have tried to be more active (although I still get tired--but have tried to get back to my exercise routine)

I don't know if my hormones evened out, the vitamins worked or if it is because I am much more active and my posture has returned to normal.
I know this post may not help much, but sometimes it is an immense help to me, just to know there are others out there feeling the same way.

Good Luck
Jenny
