whats the stupidist thing you have heard at work because of missed time

Hi all,
I just wanted to know if everyone works with at least 1 idiot. My 2 favorite stupid comments are....drum roll....Last may I had chest pain being only 40 I thought it was gas I wound up with 2 stents in my heart and was off work 6 months. This summer I will shortly be having a hyst so will be off for awhile too. Someone actually said in all seriousnes to me that some people will do anything to get time off. My second favorite line was. for awile in the last 5 months I was leaving early at least 1 day a week for Dr appts. One time when I was leaving A guy said "I wish I had your hours" I told him well when I leave i go strip naked throw my feet in stirrips and get probed by various foreign objects wanna trade. Dont let people like this get you down I just laugh at them. Luckily I have huge support at home. kinda of scared about hyst tho try to laugh a little all sharie

stupid work comments

Well tell the guy if he wants to go put his butt in the air and have a shoe horn shoved up his wazoo then your willing to sit there and make rude comments to him in exchange. LOL Some people have no clue.

Girl- I'ts all about you. Who cares what they say or think. Some people just like to hear themselves talk. blah blah blah!

Ignore them and move on, they are not worth 1 seconds thought. Stay positive for your future trip to the castle. Stay on this site, and think happy thoughts.

whats the stupidist thing you have heard at work because of missed time

While I was recovering, I had the okay from my boss and my doctor to work part time from home. I do computer graphics, so it's not like I had to stand or lift - just had hubby bring my computer work station home for me before surgery.

But,... one of the people that gives me the projects to work on came by my house on week 3 to drop things off and pick up things I had done. It wasn't a great day, I felt kinda crummy - remember I was only trying to work PART time - so I was in jammies and robe and slippers when they came by in mid afternoon.

The comment this woman made to me was "Oh, are you enjoying your vacation?"

I said,"Oh, no.. this is no vacation. If this were a vacation there would be cabana boys, drinks with umbrellas and a whole lot of tanning oil involved. Do you see sand between my toes?" And I kicked off my slippers.

She made sure someone else brought any other projects the rest of my recovery time.

I've heard so many dumb things that it's really hard to pick the best one. But after the 22nd I should have a new crop of idiot responses.. I return to work on the 22nd after being off for 9wks from foot surgery, only to take off again the 29th for my castle visit.. Bella I bet you can imagine some of the interesting things I'm gonna hear.

whats the stupidist thing you have heard at work because of missed time

Hi,

I had six weeks off last summer for a mastectomy and now this - was considering breast reconstruction but think that will be pushing it a bit! Already getting comments like "so what are you planning for next summer?"!!

One girl said "never mind her, what about poor me? I have to do all the work while she gets the summer in the garden."

Never mind, at least my boss is being fantastic about it.

this time around wasn't bad. but the first time around was.
I had an ectopic pregnancy..felt like crap worked all day and went in for emergency surgery that night combo abort. and part hyst. endo removal. When I called from the hospital to let them know what was going on I got FIRED! for having an abortion! I told the manager of the company it wasn't planned to do this and even if it were we would see what the labor board would have to say and slammed down the phone. minutes later the phone rang ..it was her..I still had my job. I went back to it for about two weeks after recovery because I used some of my recovery time to job hunt.
Some people ..geesh they want to push their ideals and morals without having a clue.
