Help Please (bit gross sorry)

I made an appt with my GP on Thursday because my discharge(dissolving stitches?) had gone a bit wiffy and the pains Ive been getting in my left side were getting more uncomfortable, anyway he prescribed an antibiotic cream to be inserted vaginally in the same way a canesten pessary would be. he said it sounded like a mild bacterial infection and was quite common after this kind of surgery.I couldnt get the script til yesterday and when I tried to use it last night I was terrified. Ive never had problems using pessaries before but i was worried how far to insert ther tube.

Also i noticed yesterday that I have what looks like burn marks in the crease at the top of my legs. They arent sore or itchy but look a bit angry. Anyone got any ideas. I dont really want to go back to the docs so soon.

Oh u dear lady. I'd be petrified inserting anything in my vag at the moment (13 may vag hyst). I took 2 lots of anti bi's as I was spotting bright red and finally, the last couple of days it's calmed down (thank u Lord).

Gees why didn't the doc give u oral anti bi's?

The angry looking skin inside your legs - could it be because u're sitting around and maybe that area is getting too hot and chaffed, like prickly heat? (Australian saying) Are u dressing differently than usual?

Maybe see if u can 'air' that area, don't wear shorts or slacks and let the angry area breathe? Possibly sit with your legs apart more so it's not so hot there?

Prickly heat and other conditions like it, get me when I wear slacks or shorts too often and my groin area becomes too hot.

Of course phone your dr if you're really worried.

Lots of fresh air will cure it I pray.

Try to get to the ob/Gyn as soon as you can, those burn marks could be a sign of internal infection.

You should have the doc who did your surgery thoroughly examine you.

Good luck!

Hi Chelep,

Just to put your mind a wee bit at ease - I have to go with the Aussie on this one - I think it's prickly heat. I have a similar rash which appeared yesterday in exactly the same place you mentioned. However, I have no pain or infection but the weather is really hot here.

I do agree with Tummybear - your GP should have examined you.

I, too, was having sharp pains in my left side. I went to my GYN for my 4 week on Thursday and told him about the pains. He examined me and said I was swollen with some inflammation and the stiches had not started to dissolve yet. He put me on the antibiotic cream morning and night. He said the cream would also help dissolve the stiches, which should have started by now. I have used it 4 times since then and today I feel great. I had the pains for almost 2 weeks and all of a sudden....gone. I think I actually overdid it today, but it has been so long that I could move without being in pain. If you can get yourself to use the cream (carefully) it really helped me. Good luck and let me know how it works.

Pam
