Discharge and white carpets

My surgery date is June 28, TAH. Wouldn't you know it we just remodeled our bedroom - white carpets, new bed
new white sheets, comforters, etc. I've read that discharge post-surgery can be very profuse. I'm planning to go to a
Med supply store to get some kind of plastic bed sheets and my DH is going to put down a plastic path from my bed
to the bathroom to protect the new carpets. Am I going too far. How bad is and how long does the discharge last?

Discharge and white carpets

Hi

I had a SAH/BSO on May 19th. I had minimal discharge for only the days I was in the hosp. Went in 5/19 went home dinner time 5/21. I have had no discharge since. The discharge I had was only panty liner size.

Go surf around the Post-Op side and see. There are lots of posts regarding this question. Some have alot of discharge while others like myself have close to none or none.

I don't think you need to "plasticsize" your whole bedroom since you will wear a pad if needed. If you bled that much you would be back in the hospital.

Hope you have a good surgery and even better recovery. It is worth it. I feel great!!!

Good luck keep us posted and see you on the post op side soon

Discharge and white carpets

I haven't had any discharge. If you think it will be a problem for you just get one of those hospital size bed pads they will have on your bed, and bring it home. That should do the trick. I wouldn't go to overboard.

Good luck.

Discharge and white carpets

I had a total radical hysterectomy on June 4. I had a "spotting" type discharge the first 3 days and nothing since then. My Dr. did advise me about the dissolving stitches at about 2 weeks, but that shouldn't be anything more than spotting. Talk to your Dr. about this. I think you might be looking for something that isn't going to happen. Congrats on the "house lift"!
