stomach muscles

I am 8 months post op from a TAH/BSO....when I lean against the counter or something it still bothers my l abdomen between my belly button and my incision mostly to the left side,,,it seems to feel like they are kind of bruised still and is a little uncomfortable. Anyone else still have sore muscles after this long? If so, when does this go away, or does it, and would exercises such as sit ups help or make it worse? any ideas? Thanks

Hey there,
I too am around 8 months post-op. And yes, my tummy is very sensetive still too. I don't like it to even be touched. I do all kinds of different ab excercises everyday. Although it has helped my appearance, it's not doing much for the sensetivity. I have had two incisions in the same area. I have a lot of scar tissue that makes it look less than favorable, but the excercises help. The best ones are the kind that concentrate on the lower abs ( since having surgery makes in weaker in that area). Hope you are doing well, and feeling good.

Thanks tapnfeet,
Good for you doing abdominal exercises,,,i keep telling myself too do them, but I am not listening to myself! I am still trying to get up enough energy to keep at an exercise routine...Other than that, am feeling good except for the nasty hot flashes....
Hope you are feeling great too!

I'm only 7 weeks post op but my doc said the weird pain I'm having on the left side may last for quite awhile....he explained that when they biopsy the lymph nodes sometimes a nerve will get clipped and that takes longer to heal.
Maybe that's what's causing yours?
Hope you get to the bottom of it! Good luck
