Can I give advice??

What I did before my surgery was go to the calender and find a person who is having surgery on the same day as I was.

This helped myself and my new very special friend out so much. We were on the same page every day it seemed like. On my bad or scared days she would pick me up. I would like to think I did the same for her. We are 14 weeks post op. and still very close friends. I live in Az. she lives in Mi.

I have run into so many women after their surgery's who never thought of doing this and said they wish they would have.

Just thought I would post on this side to give you girls the idea.
The wait is the worst, hang in there and find a friend. Good luck to you all.

Can I give advice??

Hi Jaye,

I did the same when I had my surgery. My hysterbuddy, Tracy, was going in for the same surgery on the same day. We had a lot in common and could help each other. If I was scared or having a bad day, I'd e-mail or PM her, and if she was freaking out, she'd yell for me. It helped so much having someone to go through this with. (Plus she'd had a c-section before, so she kind of knew what to expect and could share that experience with me.)

The day we went in for surgery, it was a lot less frightening, just knowing that I wasn't going through it alone. (I actually had quite a few "castle buddies" that day (and week) too - we named ourselves the MayFlowers! Silly I know, but we'd do anything to relieve the stress!)

MAYFLOWERS!!

We kept in touch for months after our surgeries, and even now, we keep in touch on our hysterversary (just passed our second!)

I would highly recommend finding a hysterbuddy. It made all the difference in the world.

s,

Lisa

Can I give advice??

Lisa thanks,
Glad to know I am not the only person who did it. We, Jodi and I even had our husbands call each other to give updates from the hosp. She had her surg. in the morning and mine was in the late afternoon.

We also sent pictures ,and I printed hers out and took it to the hosp. with me. Now that is being silly!! The extra cool thing about us is she lives 1 city away from where I grew up and lived in for 30 years!

Now for us that was God!! Thanks again for letting me know that I am not nuts !! I can only say nuts or not it helped!

Can I give advice??

Which is another reason why people need to put their surgery dates into their profiles!

Can I give advice??

Hi ,

Amen Jody! Everybody try to remember how important it is to get those surgery dates posted in your profiles.

Ok, enough naggin',

Just a suggestion? There are usually many who share the same dates. When I had my surgery, a few of us paired off, so to speak, but most of us gathered here and on PM/email and got very close before and after our surgeries. It seemed like it was more diverse and a we all received a whole lot more support by moving in a big bunch. Just like roses, prettier and more breathtaking in a bunch. Princesses to be.

Just my

Much Love,
AnnieWoof
