Any 5 weeks post op??Twinges, twangs and snaps

Hi There,

I am 5 weeks post op (TAH, cervix taken, ovaries kept, bikini incision) and feeling human FINALLY, I hit that so called wall at 4 weeks it was terrible, one step forward is how I am taking it. I still get swelly belly after 2 pm...however I have some strange things happening, at least I think they are strange...last night it felt as if I had branches inside my pelvis that were being stretched and snapped...there was even the sensation of this too----almost like when you stretch a piece of string and it snaps...I could almost hear it I swear!! Is this the healing???? It makes me feel sick to my stomach! I know there are lots of internal stitches but it feels so strange. I also have lightning pains near the incision...no redness or swelling due to infection just the normal look of having been cut....any one else having this????

I had what is called zingers on this site during the 4th week. A lot of pulling and tugging sensations. I think it was all part of the healing process. That all got much better after the fourth week. I get an occasion pull now and then and I'm in my 7th week. There is a lot of healing that goes on.

Hang in there for a few days. If you don't feel better, call your doc.

HI, I had a TAH and BSO on May 14th and I am feeling like there is an elastic inside that is being pulled and stretched.. I noticed this especially after taking my tai chi class and my elixer of kung fu class... I am not sure how much to do and tend to overdo it but it is hard to know exactly what I can and cannot do at this point.. The fatigue usually hits around 4Pm and from then on I am exhausted.. I guess this is normal and will get better with time.. Are you tired alot, especially in the late afternoon or early evening.. How much activity have you resumed???? I am 5 weeks psot op today..... nancy

Hi Nancy... I am only a little over 3 weeks and also tend to over-do; but really *want my life back!! I started walking and doing more, but am exhausted by 4:00 -5:00 pm every day...
Whendid you start taking Tai Chi again?? I am desperate to be able to start "real" exercise again!!

the "stretching" and "snapping" feeling youre decribing was exactly how I decribed sensations i was feeling (as early as a few days post-op)...i was complaining to my surgeon and he kept ignoring me..after6 months of dealing with him i decided to find myself a new GYN..i was describing this sensation to her and she said "adhesions"....sure enough I had adhesions that had formed on my lower left side and had them removed this past March....So what youre feeling could very well be normal healing, however if its lasts much longer ask about the possibility of it being adhesions.

any 5 weeks post op? twinges, twangs and snaps

hi, thanks for all your responses..dg2091 I have had endo for years and was hoping that it wasn't the start of adhesions, but will tell my doctor for sure. It happened again in the evening

Some ladies asked what kind of activities I have resumed. I have started walking again at a moderate pace, but have a 6 year old and 3 year old and that is keeping me busy despite my DH being so helpful. I am taking it slow to make sure I heal but not too slow. I am afraid to get the endo back...I want at least a good 5-10 years out of this surgery if not longer

I pushed myself yesterday b/c I was feeling so good...funny how you mentally think you can do it all but when it comes to physically??? I did not have a nap yesterday afternoon, so at 9:00 pm my husband and kids found me fast asleep in bed...I just went upstairs to lie down b/c I had some swelly belly and didn't wake up until 7:00 in the morning!!! I still need that afternoon nap!!! My DH is taking the kids to a picnic, it is about a 40 minute drive but I am not feeling up to it today b/c I did too much yesterday.....also trying to get my iron up after being low for so long....

Post op appointment in 1 week---can't wait

TAH ( cervix taken, ovaries kept, bikini incision, due to endo, adeno. etc etc)
