Gall Bladder problems - info anyone?

When doc did TAH, he said gall bladder was HUGE - and after I heal from this surgery, we will probably need to take it out, and he will refer me to another surgeon. Where can I get more info on this? Possibly, this could have been the cause of some of the pain I have been experiencing? I do get terrible bloating and swelling sometimes after meals - even lite meals. Just can't find a good site or anyone else that can share info with me -
Sisters, please help, so I can understand what my body is going through!!

Jill,

I went to WebMD and did a search on GallBladder, here is the link for the search. There are several articles there that you can read.

Jill, - are your meals high fat meals. gallbladder can bother people especially after meals with fat. Try a low fat diet & see if this helps. Also were you or are you on hormone replacement. Some of these hormones can cause gallbladder problems also. Thats all I can think of. My other thought is did your doctor discuss a gall bladder series - these are X-rays taken after you drink a contrast fluid. maybe he's waiting for the surgeon to discuss that with you. Dont get too upset. The surgeon will most likely do diagnostic tests first to see what the problem is.Take one step at a time! Hope this helps!
