scar question/commercial poll

There is nothing wrong with being proud of your scar or of wanting to reduce it.
Whatever is right for you!

Personally...The scar doesn't bother me...It is just a part of who I am.

(Question: Is anyone else out there frustrated/ticked about that scar reduction commercial...you know...the one with the small cresent shaped scar on her shoulder...
"Oh, goody now I can wear my strapless dress without feeling upset and self-concious"...
Ugh!
That ad makes me nuts. (Irrational ...I know...)
That scar is NOTHING compared to many others...

Sorry! That one just burns me up!

scar question/commercial poll

Well, since I don't plan to become an exotic dancer here at the ripe ol' age of 46 very soon.... I don't figure my bikini line scar is any kind of issue once it's done itching and healing. I'm middle-aged fluffy - things are chubby and hang a little less than beautifully in places - so, the entire audience for my scar is DH, GYN and my bathroom mirror. None of those three are going to point and laugh. I doubt that I'll be buying stock in scar strips.

Now, if you wanna know a commercial that is nutz... just what is that chick in the boat going to do with a WHOLE BOX of tampons in the middle of the lake? Even in my pre-op days of carrying several feminine supplies with me at all times, I never carried a whole box in my purse!

So true!
How about the one where everyone is in a classroom and someone tries to pass something to someone else.
The teacher tells her to come to his desk...
He takes "it" from her.
He asks if she brought enough for everyone...
She say.."Enough for the girls."
Ugh!!!!

Welllllll...I can relate to the chick in the boat... I used to stuff 2 handfulls of tampons in my purse for an afternoon outing...probably about a box! I would easily go through almost 2 boxes on days 3 & 4 each month. I am SO glad those days are over!

And...sorry, but I thought the girl with the "candy" commercial is cute...maybe 'cuz I'm a teacher!

teacher

Hi!
Glad to meet another teacher!
It only bugs me because it makes the teacher look clueless.
I can see that they are definately marketing to the younger consumer!
Are you teaching again next year?
I plan to...I just hope my recovery goes o.k. since I just got out of the Castle.

The other night I counted all my scars - as of last week I now have 20. What's there is there - I'm just thankful to be alive - scars and all.

I agree it is NUTZ!!!!!!!!!!

I had open heart surgery back in 1968 and have a big ole scar right down the middle of my chest, that is just 1" short of my neck so it is VERY visable. When I was a teen I HATED it and would never wear a bathing suit or shorts due to the huge thick dark one on the top of my left thigh, where they put the heart pump to keep the blood flowing while my heart was on another table across the room being worked on.

I am over it now!

I have to admit, I hate my scar. I want to just forget I ever had this surgery, I guess. As I am not an exotic dancer either, my only audiences also include DH, bathroom mirror and gyn, and although none of them are pointing and laughing, I am my own worst critic. DH tells me he actually likes it - it gives me character!! I thought I already had character. I have lots of other scars too from various injuries or what not, but none bother me like the hyst scar. I haven't seen the commercial for the scar product. And, I am over 9 months post and my scar STILL ITCHES!!!!!!! Ugh.

As for commercials - has anyone seen the one where the girl says "My grandmother told me to wear clean underwear in case I'm in an accident......." then they advertise some pad or another and then the girl comes back and says, "but I can think of a much better reason"
???????????????????????????????????????????? I just don't get that one.
I'm glad I don't have to deal with any of that anymore, and it always gives me a little chuckle when I see those silly commercials!!
