pulling sensation on left side of incision?
Anyone have these symptoms? Should I be worried?
I'm 12 days post-op, and I'm having a painful pulling sensation on the left side of my bikini-cut incision. The pain feels like someone is tugging on a thread inside me that runs vertically from the groin area where my left leg joins my body up to my left side about 2 inches above my incision. The area feels hard, and my left groin area is numb to the touch (it's been that way since surgery).
I've been reading about the "healing ridge" around the incision, which I have. But this hardness and pain actually runs perpendicular to the incision, so I'm not sure it's the same thing.
My pain has been reasonable during the past week, and I only had to take my prescription pain meds in the evening near bedtime. Tonight I felt awful around dinner time, and I took my last percocet tablet. I'm a little worried about having only OTC tylenol and motrin to rely on from here on out.
Anyone else have this problem? Tips on how to handle it?

pulling sensation on left side of incision?
Call your doctor's office and get their take on it.
I had what I would describe as a runners stitch in my side and every chance I got I asked my Doctor about it. He had an explaination for it based on the work he did inside me.
I do have a numb spot at the top of my leg probably similar to what you describe ... but mine is from a myomectomy surgery where a fibroid was wrapped around the artery. It did not hurt, and was not a lump .
Describe what you are feeling to your doctor or their nurse. It will put your mind at ease.
For most of my surgery aches n pains I found a heating pad set on LOW helped a bit with the discomfort, but you have to be careful since you can't feel the heat, that you don't burn yourself.
If you do find you are still in more pain that OTC stuff can handle, also discuss that with your doctor. I don't know about yours, but mine never wanted me in any kind of pain and had recommendations (if not prescriptions) ready for me.
All the best to you,
BSQ
