Tuesday, tuesday 6 July!!
Mornin, all!
Us UKers are up early today, to a nice sunny day!
Unfortunately, I am off to work!
Having a nice quiet munch on my toast, planning my meals.
Lunch is scrambled eggs on toast today, I think.
Dinner is spaghetti bolognese, the kids have been asking me to make it for a couple of days, so I think I will tonight!
I have frozen a couple of virtually fat free yogurts for me to eat in the evenings and pretend they are ice cream, as the evenings are when I have had a bit of the munchies lately!!
Got plenty of fruit in, for those in between times!

Tuesday, tuesday 6 July!!
Morning Fran! So glad you've got some !!!
Spaghetti sounds so good. Enjoy!
Today will bring lots of errandy running around. To prepare I will pack a small cooler for the car & fill it with bottled water & some munchies like cheese & crackers and fruit. Then I can skip the drive through & stay out all day if neccessary.
Got an email that some friends are visiting our area so we will be getting together with them soon. These folks are French and the way they eat is SO much better than the way I do! They don't really snack, eat much smaller portions, and they converse between bites & take the meal much more slowly than we do. Plus, they drink lots of bottled water & not much pop, if any. Seeing them will l be a good reminder for me to try to do those things, too.
I remember their first visit with us, several years ago. We took them to lunch and they were so amazed at the portion sizes that they asked the waiter to take our pictures with the plates when they arrived! That should have been my first clue that we are doing this all wrong around here! The second clue should have been the trim figures on these gals!
Ok, off to pretend I'm French today.
Appréciez ce beau jour, les MEILLEURS amis !
(Enjoy this beautiful day, BEST friends! I cheated & went to altavista translation site. )
xoxo

Tuesday, tuesday 6 July!!
Hi Fran and xena! Hi to all the other BEST gals!
I am just glad the crazy weekend is over because it wore me out and now I have a cold! I feel lousy! Being OP today will be easy as I am not at all hungry. I will try to go to Curves later if I am feeling better. Water will be no problem. Feels good on my sore throat. Thanks God the humidity of yesterday left us for a few days. Talk about zapping your energy.
I am still thinking of going back on Phase One of the SBD starting Thursday. I really need to step up my metabolism as it is 4 months today until DD's wedding. Yikes!
Have a great Tuesday.....stay OP.

I'm going to join you!
Good morning ladies - I've been lurking for awhile and have finally convinced myself to join you! I need to lose about 10 lbs., get in shape and feel better about life in general. For starters - I hate water! However, maybe if I have to report in every day, I'll at least be accountable - there's always hope!
So - if I can lose 5 lbs by the end of July - it will be a miracle! I work from my home and car so could be checking in early, late, or during the middle of the day!
I also am glad the holiday weekend is over - I spent way too much time outside and burned this plump body to a crisp! My goals for July are to:
Eat right - ha!
Drink water (which I hate!)
Be happy ( have had a difficult 2 years)
Hopefully get my hormones straightened out - aargh!
Walk daily - or at least do something daily except for sitting at my desk, driving the car or sitting in front of the TV!
It's nice to meet you all and I look forward to chatting daily!
 s

Tuesday, tuesday 6 July!!
It's a day here but nasty storms are headed here for later today.
Fran, spaghetti does sound so good! I haven't had it in months.
Xena, on being French today! It does seem like a good idea, though.
Emily, isn't it amazing how fast the wedding date is approaching?! I hope everything is going as scheduled and there are no last minute surprises! I think I'll join you on returning to Phase 1 of SBD after the weekend I just survived!
I should get out and exercise before those storms hit. I'm also busy today catching up on laundry. Still have to run the vacuum to catch the dog fur that is rolling around like tumbleweeds! Now I remember why I don't have a dog of my own. Chinchilla fur is bad enough.

Hey all
Sorry I have not been around a lot lately. We have not stopped. Busy busy but then you know me I love that. I was off from last Wed til Monday. It was very tough for me to get up yesterday morning.
I am feeling better. My thyroid meds have been upped and I feel better already. So hopefully I can see the scale start to move downwards as well. We shall seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I am still exercising like crazy. So I know underneath the flab there is some awesome looking muscles. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
My mom has the chicks tonight and hubby is working so I am home alone I think I may go shopping as there are some big sales on and my oldest dd leaves next Wed for British Colombia with my mom for 2 weeks. WOW I am going to miss her. But then she is only 10 and is going to have a wonderful trip. I think dh and I are jealous we are not going. My little dd gets to go in 2 years. So all is well.
It looks like everyone is very busy over the summer. Which is wonderful. But personally summer is the hardes time of year for me to stay on plan. I am much better for the rest of the year. I am really trying to eat well during the week and what I want on Saturdays. Not perfect but better than what I was doing.
Xena meeting old friends is always wonderful. I agree we eat to much and to fast. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Emily wow 4 months til the wedding. Time flies that is for sure.
Ann I bet you will love a quiet day or to. I want one myself. I have tonight which will be nice. I am really enjoying the still very addictive. For how hard I workout I think I should be skinny I guess that is not meant to be
Donna I am doing strict atkins minus the heavy cheeses. I needed to get back into a grove as well. I was really bad the last couple of weeks. Should be easier now.
Morning Fran and welcome Katrina
Okay I am offffffffffffffff

 to BEST, Kay!
I'm glad you decided to join in the fun. I'm with you on the water - I don't really like it but I do feel better when I get enough of it. If you like lemon, try it with a splash of lemon juice and a little Splenda or other sweetner.
Good luck with your goals in July! You'll find it helps by posting here to stay accountable. The support is awesome!
Time for my walk - catch you all later.

Tuesday, tuesday 6 July!!
G'day all!
Since we were on our car trip yesterday, I didn't do so great on the water - we wouldn't have made very good time if I'd been stopping to potty every 30 minutes! But, I figure between all the getting in and out of the car, and the walking from shop to shop that we did it wasn't a totally sedentary day. And, I didn't substitute pop for water, my "naughty" for the day was a bottle of gatorade!
I did manage to make low fat choices at the restaurant where we had lunch, and then when we got home in the evening none of us were actually hungry - dinner was snacky things like watermelon(skip the salt!) munched on throughout the evening.
So, my endeavor today will be to get back on track with the walking.
I agree that a splash of lemon or lime juice helps the water go down - I keep bottles of both in my fridge, but I skip the sweetener/sugar.
I know that I could make myself nuts with weighing every morning, so I've resolved that I will only do that on Mondays and Thursdays. This morning I am down 2 lbs from last Monday. I think that's a step in the right direction! I must have done okay with my food choices vs. the activity I was involved in over the weekend.
Have a great day, ladies!

Tuesday, tuesday 6 July!!
'Afternoon BEST Gals,
I've been having a hard time since I last posted 5 or 6 days ago. I got tired of talking about my sore knee, so I did some internet research and a little self-diagnosis and now I can talk about my sprained medial collateral ligament.
Anyway, last Thursday I'd been resting my medial collateral ligament, and it was feeling better, when I came downstairs and asked my DD (age 18) a simple question about giving her a ride to a class. Suddenly DD is giving off all kinds of clues that something is Terribly Wrong--the only type of clue she is leaving out is verbal. My poor DH arrives home in the middle of this strange, silent scene--Let me put it this way:
6:10--I am happy that my knee isn't hurting.
6:20--I am unsure whether to leave my DH of 20+ years immmediately or in the morning. The only thing I am sure of is that DH and DD are exactly alike and deserve to live together without me.
There was nothing Terribly Wrong with DD, and DH and I cleared up our misunderstanding within the hour (we have fights about semi-annually, so this whole thing was very unusual).
Unfortunately, I became depressed the following day. (It was like overdoing post-op then feeling bad the next day, except emotionally instead of physically.) DH has been wonderful, and luckily he is taking some vacation time this week so I'm getting extra support. I've had depression problems since my teens. In the past, a down-turn like this could take months to recover from. Recovering within a week is wonderful!
AND I DID NOT BINGE! I ate more ice cream and chocolate than was necessary to maintain life, but I think I only went up a pound and a half.
Sorry for the long post. I'm considering physical therapy for my sprain. Anybody experienced with that?

Note of possible interest: women's knee injuries are thought to be related to hormonal variations that cause relaxation of joints--- I guess now I have PMS on the Knee.
