Surgical Menopause

Hi!
I had some hot flashes...etc...before my TAH...

They are definitely worse now and the emotional roller coaster is exhausting!
?Surgical Shock?

How long after surgery should I ask for testing?

Thanks!

Looking forward to being hormonally balanced ever after

Surgical Menopause

I don't know about the testing but the surgical menopause can leave anytime!! I think that is probably the most annoying thing with all of this right now.

Will be thinking of you while I hotflash and night sweat away!:eyes:

Blessings,

Surgical Menopause

Read all you can on Natural hormoe replacement (bio-identical ones) not the synthectic ones. Good Luck it's the best thing I have done for myself is to search online and read Dr. John Lee's book What you doctor may not tell you about meopause.

Surgical Menopause

Hi

Hormone fluctuations after surgery are not uncommon but they can be uncomfortable. It can take a while for hormones to settle down after surgery. Since you kept your ovaries, they may or may not be functioning to capacity and your doctor could run a FSH test to determine if you're still ovulating. In any case, test or no test, if you're having symptoms that are bothersome an idea you might consider is to approach your doctor about using a low dose of estrogen.

You are still very early post op. Your ovaries certainly could be in surgical shock. It never hurts to give the doc a call and see what he/she thinks. It may also be helpful to start keeping a journal of your symptoms, may give a clearer picture if things are getting better or worse over time.

Surgical Menopause

Right now I'm feeling fortunate not to be having hot flashes/cold sweats/moods like so many others seem to be experiencing. I feel pretty much the same as before, not a problem at all, until I found out I had cancer.

I'm wondering about taking any hormones and which one? I've heard you should take something for bone loss. What other things are hormones good for replacing?
