pre-op

I had bloodwork and they took my vitals bp, pulse, temp, no xrays or ekg but i dont smoke or drink so i guess they figured that i was in pretty good shape as far as lungs and heart. I think it depends on the dr whatever they want is what they do.
Relax and go with the flow it will be a breeze.

Pre-Op Procedure?!?

I had blood work, chest x-ray, ekg, and had to talk to the antithesiologist (sorry for the bad spelling). I also don't drink nor smoke...they told me this was what they do to everyone. The x-ray is to make sure your lungs are clear and you have no sign of TB or pneumonia (that's what they told me).

Hope this helps a little.

Pre-Op Procedure?!?

Shannon, fear not I was in the hospital for HOURS for my pre-op. I waited around a crowded waiting area for them to call my name, about 2 hours to be exact, registered and was sent upstairs to wait in another waiting room. Peed in a cup, got my BP taken, talked to a nurse, and had blood taken. I didn't have to get the EKG or chest xray because I had a surgical procedure the month before and they still had all that on file.

I had to be there around 4 hours from start to finish.

So relax, pre-op is the easy part, just takes a lot of sitting around and waiting. LOL

Best of luck!

Pre-Op Procedure?!?

Yeah, no worries. My hospital opened a new diagnostic and outpatient surgery center. I requested to be tested there instead of at the main hospital. That is why I got through so fast!
