how do you all feel 4 weeks post op
I'm four weeks post op and lots of walking would burn me out by the end of the day. I would take a pillow with you when flying to help you get comfortable sitting, I keep a pillow behind my back in the car right now that helps.
Dress comfortable and roomy enough that your belly can expand during the day. My belly grows about 2 inches as the day goes on, deflates in my sleep and starts the cycle over again the next day. Maybe use one of those carts at the airport to get you from A to B that they drive at the airport terminals just to help you from not overdoing it.
A doctors note wouldn't hurt just in case you needed a cart at Disney towards the end of the day.
Just listen to your body and you'll be fine. Take your ibuprofen on time so you stay ahead of the pain while your traveling and just dress comfortable and drink plenty of water and take it slow.
One more thought, were is your seat on the plane? The emergency exits and first row of the plane have much more leg room to stretch out, that might help if you could get one of those seats to help you stretch out a little better on the plane, not sure how long your flights are.
Good luck and have fun!!!!

If you need a cart or wheelchair at Disney get it in the morning...they may all be gone if you wait.
Be careful and have fun.

Too much sitting/standing?
Hmmm, I'm coming up on four weeks, and I need to stretch out briefly in the middle of the day. My energy can be somewhat uneven. I don't think I'd plan a full day of walking and sitting upright yet. Any chance you can sneak off to the hotel to nap midday and reconnect with the family?

Careful of those rides!!
I think you're really brave going to Disney at 4 weeks. I'm coming up to 4 weeks and a ride over cobble stones is high adventure enough for me!
I think the Dumbo ride should be ok, but I would steer clear of Peter Pan - gets a bit bumpy when the fighting starts!!
(Only jesting - have a great trip!)

how do you all feel 4 weeks post op
Hi...I'm at 5 weeks and we are leaving for MO this Monday. It's a 6 hour flight. I'm NOT lookng forward to it because I think it's way too much sitting for one day. We were gonna go to Silver Dollar City but I just don't think I could take that much walking. I was SOOOO glad to read someone say that as the day goes on their belly swells. I was thinking it was just me!!!! Thank you so much ladies for all the helpful hints on this board!!!

how do you all feel 4 weeks post op
I hate to be the negative one, but I know I couldn't walk around DisneyWorld right now at 4 weeks! I am 51 but in great shape phycially (run & lift weights - preop). For one thing the heat seems to get to me - I start feeling weak and nauseous in the extreme heat. I was out and about much of yesterday, not necessarily on my feet the whole time, but more than I should have been (I'm a real estate agent and had a new listing to work up, take pix, etc.). Today I'm zapped and feel too tired to even do anything around the house. At least consider a Plan B, just in case!

ladies
You all brought up some good points...The half a day thing would not work b/c condo is not on site of the park (Iwish it was though). I would not be going on rides just going to see kids enjoy themselves. We usually stay from open to about 4:00 - 8 hours)I never thought about the heat issue (what was I thinking) I hoped that the scooter would be a great help to me getting around the park. You know walking a llittle riding a little?!
thanks again

how do you all feel 4 weeks post op
I am 4 weeks post op today. I have been feeling pretty good and thought the mall with my 15 year old daughter would be good exercise for me. What a wake up call that was for me. I consider myself in good shape and I felt like my mother (who was not in good shape) must have felt when she was getting on in years. I had to use the couch to rest in Abercrombie and Fitch and when we had made it all the way from one end to the other and even stopped for a dinner break, I was wondering if I was going to make it back. I did, but the lower part of my belly all around to my back was in pain. I immediately got in bed when I got home.
My suggestion is get the scooter for sure.
