What is Adeno?

Hi girls.

Dont know what Adeno. is. Isn't Endo. where your uterus lining grows pretty much where ever it pleases? So, what is Adeno.
Some medical terms going on here that I just am not familiar with.

Thanks in advance.

Blessings,

Wildflowers

What is Adeno?

as it was explained to me, it is basically endometriosis of the uterine muscular wall. endo tissue infiltrates the inner muscle tissue. it can cause bleeding problems, pains, and a boggy or "squishy" enlarged uterus.

they found i had it only during surgery.

sounds yucky. no wonder i felt so bad down there. what a list of ailments that one organ had.

good riddance!

hope this helped. i could be a bit off, but that is what i recall my doctor as having said.

g'night,

What is Adeno?

My Dr. suspected it after seeing the ultrasound and knowing my symptoms. He was right. the pathology report said bifocal adenomyosis. It nearly caused me to bleed to death. I bled out for at least 2 weeks every month. My blood count dipped to 5.5.
A hysterectomy is the only real cure for it. I feel so much better now and am energized for the first time in years. My uterus was finally put to rest! LOL

WHAT IS ADENO

I had a tvh on 5/10/04 and on my follow up exam the pathology report showed that I had Adenomyosis. My uterus was three times the normal size plus I had fibroids. The reason for the hysterectomy was my growing uterus and severe pain almost all the time. Dr. was not sure of the reason for my increasing uterus and after a couple months of pretty good growth decided it should come out while it could be done vaginally. It was a relief when they found out what the cause of the problem was. I had all these symptoms and nobody could tell me why so having a name to put to my problems really helped. I was starting to think I was going crazy.

I just want to say this is the best website in the world. I log on at least a couple of times a week just to check things out. Even after my surgery I am still finding lots of useful info.

I love everyone on this website. You guys are all TOPS in my book.

Thanks
Svcollector
