Feeling Horrible!!! Help.

Hi ladies,

Is anyone out there suffering the same discomfort as I am?

My surgery is in less than 2 weeks....12/14. I am have an adominal hyster, removing my uterus, leaving my ovaries and
cervix. (I don't know the abbreviations)

I have two fibroids the size of melons and some smaller ones. My uterus is swollen to a 6 mth pregnancy.
I feel pregnant, look pregnant. I constantly have cramps,
gas and back pain. I actually feel contractions, which cause pain. Also lots of pressure on the colon and constant urination. And lastely...NASESEA 24/7.
My cloths are getting tighter and tighter and I am watching what I am eating! HELP. Two more weeks and I don't think I'll make it. Did I mention the depression and the mood swings.

My last day of work is 12/13. I teach and I am on my feet all day at the end of the day I am beat. I haven't gone to the gym for 3 weeks now, and I stopped my walking!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent. If it wasn't for this website I would of been locked up already.

You are not alone!

Hi Joyce

Believe me you are not alone. After speaking to many LIW in here, I quickly realised that this was all normal. My LAVH is on 11 Dec, my nerves are shot to pieces and often feel I'm going off my head.
I do know however it's only a matter of time and it will all be over.

Hang on in there,

Take care

Feeling Horrible!!! Help.

Hello Joyce

Hey we are twins!! my hister is also on the 14th. I can totaly relate to the mood wings and depression! Ive not been able to concentrate for work either! The only thing which helped me today was going with my daughter to a craft fair at her school (being there all week for you probably wouldn't help you today!) maybe a movie or something fun?? Just think dear in a couple months maybe one! we'll be feeling great and never have to go thoough this again!! What grade do you teach, I'm from a family of teachers and have a HUGE appreciation for all you folks! I've actually started x-mas crafts to keep me busy now as well as after. Figure I must be productive with this time (CRAZY i know) Keep your chin up through tis site I have relized i am not alone and you should also rest assured you are not either!!!!!! warm thoughts and lots of prayers!!

Hang in there!

Dear Joyce,

First, a big electronic hug for you!! I teach too (University) and limped my way, exhaused, through my last round of lectures on Thursday. (I head to the castle at dawn on Monday). Although it wounded my pride, I found it essential to deliver my last few classes sitting. That helped diminish the back pain a bit and it helped my fatigue level a lot. I also discretely curled up with a heating pad in my office between classes, screened students at the door for cold symptoms (and only allowed the healthy ones in), and had helpers move heavy books, lecturns, etc. You take care!

Best,
Renny

Feeling Horrible!!! Help.

I can totally relate to you joycie, I too am in so much discomfort that I can't wait for this week to be over. I'm scheduled for a TAH on the 8th. I'm not sure if it's my imagination or not but it seems that this past month all my symptoms have gotten worse. I belch like an old miner and like you I look about 6 or 7 months pregnant. My daughter touched my belly one night and was shocked at how hard it was. The lower back pain by the end of the day is too much to bear, thank god for heating pads. I haven't been able to leave my home for more than an hour at a time due to the heavy bleeding and cramps so I live in really loose sweat pants or a moomoo. And yes the sick stomach is always there, sitting, lying, or standing; nothing helps
I thought I was doing pretty good keeping my emotions in tack but the last day or two I find that I have to let it all out when I go to bed at night alone, then I cry. I keep telling myself that this time next week it'll all be over and I can mark the days with progress instead of how much worse I feel.
Sometimes knowing that it's not all in your head and that there are other ladies who have been there done that and who are standing alongside you in spirit helps to ease the situation.
Good Luck in the coming weeks

Feeling Horrible!!! Help.

Joyce and Helen, we're hyster triplets

As you'll see in a new thread I've just started, I also feel awful: the bleeding is so bad I have problems getting from one spot to the other. I feel all the time and I'm living on iron pill (well, not really: that would be dangerous ) . I can't WAIT for the 14th to come!!

Ladies, let's take heart together. Only 11 more days to go!!!

Feeling Horrible!!! Help.

Dear Joyce, I am so sorry you are having so much trouble, but just think, in 2 weeks this will all be over and you will feel so much better. Your belly is probably getting larger and more painful due to the fact that you are on your feet so much- the fibroids become engorged. If you can, try to lay down and elevate your feet above the level of your hips 2-3 times a day for 20 minutes. This will hopefully give you some relief. If you can tolerate it, NSAIDS would be great to reduce inflammation and pain. Motrin 600-800 mgs every 8 hours with food may help. Just be sure not to take any more for 5 days before the surgery. My date is Dec 12, and as you can see, I too am quite nervous as it is 2:15 am and am still awake. I am having TAH- etc for adeno and endo. Best of luck to you- will say extra prayers!

Hugs,
Laura

thanks sisters......

hi sisters,
I felt so good ready all the replies...this website is such a blessing.

To my twins........good luck, I'll think about you. After our surgery lets keep in touch and moan and groan to one another!

to my fellow teachers....I caught a cold!!!
I teach 2nd-grade and have 19 children to deal with.
I love them so much.....each day I go in and the discomfort
goes away because I am so busy....but once I bring them to
a prep or lunch--I am dead--working is a blessing.

hugs to you all.
