the latest on nausea

HI every0one. Some have been trying to reach me during this past week and this is why I couldnt respond .

On MOnday DH ( husband ) left town . On Monday evening I was in trouble . I suffer as most of you know from recurrent nausea . Tests have all cancelled out or showed only minor problems .

The Gi tract is cleared now .. My adhesions though playing a small part arent the main cause of my recurrent nausea . The haitus is lax but that isnt a trigger either .

ENT has cleared their discipline . Whats surprising is that years ago I was tested and had zero depth vision . Todays test revealed that Id o have some but its not totally whole . I have some but its NOT as good as it should be . hmm which explains too why I tend to trip over my own feet and miss fingers Im asked to swing my finger at .

My hearing isnormal and my myopia is Ok with my current set of glasses .

Its not likely to be neuro although that hasnt been investigated because I dont have other classic symptoms eg headaches and blurred vision etc etc .

the eye test thing covered afew procedures. The most trouble some one was
1) Having the Dr drip some eye drops on to my eye to numb it so that they could do afew things including test the pressure re : the eyeball .It felt l;ike my euye was paralysed and even now some hours later Im still facing the side effects in waves .

2) The other one that I didnt like again involved eyedrops . It was meant to dilate my pupils so that they could check out my eye with odd instruments and bright lights .I was dazed after that one . For hours I had blurred vision ... some objects looked like they had a ghost attached ot them . Others were floating . Some had a bright halo about them

The result of all these was that the Drs are starting to agree thats its most ;likely hormonal .

Now I am on anti emetics round the clock and they are waiting for my Lucrin jab ( for temporary /trial menopause ) to kick in and see if things continue as they are .

My house is a wreck .

Oh ((((Mei))))) It sure has been quite the ordeal trying to pinpoint what is causing this recurrent nausea Hopefully the Lupron will do the trick.

Keeping you in our thoughts and ers.

Im so resigned to it .. some days I just dont want to fight anymore but I have to go on trying to locate the source or the trigger

Mei, don't give up the search for what is causing your problems. We had surgery on the same day, so I've been interested in how you are doing. You are in my thoughts. I wish you well.

I was off meds bya few hours this morning .. Im keeping my fingers crossed

I took the lucrin jab to induce meno at the beginning of July .. takes at least a month to kick in and lasts three months .

I think Im playing with fire esp when I sometimes forget to take the anti emetics on time

its hard to say if its working the lucrin that is ..because i only just got out ... Im still in ther window period before it kicks in ... and unless I chance it and go off the anti emetics I wont know .. right now I dare not

My sympathies.

My most constant pal is nausea. BOY would I like to get rid of him . Most Doctors have been kind .

I had one young one under training ask me : are you making yourself throw up ? ( i bit my tongue . His age should excuse his imaturity LOOL)

Another nurse :P wow no wonder you are so slim its because you throw up .. i went excuse me its genetic My aunts were thin. but she didnt quite get it .( that one wil never make it )

Then there are people who dont practice western medicine and get ANGRY no m,atter how politely I explain ... that I MUST take their folk cures or try their herbs . Im honkerblonked and resigned to it .Now I just get rude .They dont understand that Im sensitive to alot of things and i dont want to try new stuff . Theyu go OH its just a herb .. i have explained until I turned blue that it may be just a herb to you but it may send me to the ER because I might react to it . ( Oh dear there is something wrong with you they go .. or arrrgh you are stubborn )

I am on anti emetics round the clock now .

Some even rub it in : if you get heart burn too why not take ytour dinner at this time and not too close to bedtime ?

Me : Im unable to stomach a very large volume . So I have to eat smaller portions . Say I eat at 5 i get hungry by 7. After I settle the kid who comes home from afternoon school Im free to take a bite. If I lie back anytime earlier than 11 I get heartburn .
Eat at 6 and its a rush because by 630 I must have washed the items used and be out of the house to walk my kid home . The other one eats at 530 pm .
If I eat at 7 Its still too close to lie back time . So eitherw ay I have to spend my nights sitting up until at least midnight thats why Im on the net alot after the kids have both gone to bed . .. or I sleep sitting up .

Then the person gives me a baffled : wow whats wrong with you look .. like Im trying to cause difficulties.

This is unrelated but its like my bossy #1 SIL who barked : there must be something wrong with you because I used antiprespirant and she didnt need to . That time I told her off about being so bossy and insecure that she couldnt rest unless she wasin control of everythi ng heh heh .

So thats what IM up against .

The social side of things is harder to bear up with sometimes.... ignorance is abit hard to deal with .

Some people for eg have a hard time understanding .They think Im weak . I keep telling them look its not a resistence thing . I almost never get flu coughs or colds which they come down with very often .Yup almost never . Im tired of battling ignorance .. now I just avoid the phone if I know someone ignorant is calling or avoid family gatherings if I can . Its too tiring explaining to ignorant people .

Whats wrong is that part of me ( my ovaries whic produce the hormones that keep you female ) is defective .. period . As a side effect of that deffect I get nausea and have to be on antiemetics. Menopause is a cure for this but it brings on another set of problems . Thats about as simple as I can get with the medical explaination . I did get an A afterall in human biology heh heh
