July 19th LIW with a last minute question

Well I am only three days away!! Decided to take out the ruler this morning, at my pre-op my dr told me that my incision would be about 6 inches. According to my measurement against my belly that just about covers 3/4 quarters it.

Okay I am freaking now AGAIN!! Can any Princess enlighten me? Is it really that long of an incision?

Sorry to say, it is that big. I had 2 c-sections before my hysterectomy, so it was not a big deal, I knew what to expect. The incision is usually low enough that you can wear a 2 pc bikini and your incision will not be seen. Before my hysterectomy my previous incision had faded so much that I had to look for it. It took a couple of years for it to get that way. Just think of how much better you will feel after everthing has healed.

I had a TAH 5-14. My incision is half the size of my c-section scar. Its very small and when I complimented my dr on it he said he was trained in minimally invasive surgery. I thought it would be much bigger since i was told i had the size uterus of a 4 mo pregnancy. Hopefully it wont end up being that big for you. Good luck on Monday.

TAH 5-14-04 kept ovaries, Lots of fibroids, endo stage II on right ovary, adenomyous and pelvic adhesions.

Well I do not have a ruler handy but my incision looks about 6 inches ~ After surgery I looked at my incision line and thought hmmm thats not so bad I thought it would be longer or horrible looking but its just a red line really...and its below the panty line

Thank you so much. I feel a little better, but I still think that is quite long. OH well I have come this far guess that should be the least of my worries.

I guess it all just depends on your persective and how wide your body is! LOL!
I'm having mine done Monday too. We're hoping for a TVH, but it is possible that it could be a TAH.
