Leaking down my leg, EWW!!!

What is up with this leaky bladder thing? Now that I can actually feel that I need to pee, why does something else start now!!! I will pee, sit for a minute, get up and it runs down my leg!!!! I am grossed out. I tried sitting longer, I tried trying to pee more out, going more frequently. Nothing works. Any help from my sisters?

Oh dear, if it's not one thing, it's another. I have bladder issues (but different ones - no leaking) and my doc prescribed Detrol to help with "irritable bladder." Sorry I'm not more help - I suggest calling your doc and/or posting on the Bladder Matters forum.

Leaking down my leg, EWW!!!

I find I am experiencing the same thing you are. I had a SAH, bladder sling and rectocele repairs. Early on I noticed after finishing going to the bathroom I'll stand up and a few dribbles will come out. For me, to remedy this problem I simply stand up to finish wiping myself. My DR believes this should not be necessary given another month or two.

Leaking down my leg, EWW!!!

I had the same thing but first thing in the morning when I stood up out of bed. I am having problems with the sling area healing. I had it closed (which didn't work and have to try it again). My doctor put me on Dextrol LX. Turns out that my bladder was having spasms. He said its not uncommon for this to happen after truma to that area. He said I will be on it for at least 6 months after my last surgery.

If I were you, I would call my docotor and tell him what is happening. I have been dry since about 24 hours after I started to take the prescription.

Really freaky isn't it??!! It almost feels as if you can't empty all the way, or no matter how long you sit, it's still there when you stand up!!!
I just had my 6 week check this morning and the Doc put me on Detrol LA as well. He says with all the manipulation + the catheter, irritable bladder is common and should disappear withing a few more weeks of healing. You might want to mention it to your doctor as well.
Good luck,

we're in the same club

i've been doing kegel's since i first woke up from surgery 4/26. i, too, have the dribbly thing. i thought my muscle control was blown or that something had been done to me. the standing up to wipe seems to be helping me, the change in posture seems to empty my bladder completely. i see the doc on friday, i'll see what he says. i'm not up on detrol, i'm on the patch and pretty much refuse to take anymore drugs. good luck, i'll post my findings when i return next week.

I had this, too....I couldn't figure out where the liquid was coming from! I felt like my bladder was empty and I knew I wiped good, but my leg would be wet! It does get better! I'm at 8 weeks post and it almost never happens now, thank goodness!

I have had the same thing.

I would suggest: sitting just a little bit longer on the toilet and trying to relax. Then gently lean forward for a few seconds and then lean back for a few seconds. Sometimes this movement causes a little more pee to come out and I can avoid leakage.

Good Luck
Jenny
