Hi Wendy

Some have found hair issues improve by adding Evening Primrose Oil to their supplements. Here is an informative past thread regarding hair problems.....

Hi Wendy,

I can really feel for you. I have very thin hair too. I am afraid of if I don't get my hormones in order soon, I'll might lose more.

I am three weeks post op today TAH/BSO. Will be taking Estrace 1mg or Estradiol 1mg. Will go to the pharmacy tomorrow when my dd can drive me.

I hope this will help me keep what little hair I have. I'll try the primrose too.

All the best for you, Wendy.
Please let us know if it gets better for you.

Sisters in more ways than one,
Lola

Wendy,

I would be happy to keep in touch with you.

???Any other Hyster Sisters with the same problem???

I hope that you will let us know what has worked for you or how you cope with your thin hair.

Has taking hormones (what kind?) helped or made your hair thinner?

Be good to yourself and take care,
Lola

hairloss

I have had to take different types of seizure meds. I know for a fact with trial and error that meds can also cause hair loss. Seizure and also antidepressants. Do you take any of these?

ALso, if testosterone is converted into dht, which is dihydrotesterone you will experiece a significant amount of hair loss.

I have had terrible hair loss since my total hysterectomy in 2001.
I notice when my estrogen is low I start to lose hair. I take hair vitamins, evening primrose, fish oil. and I recently started taking Grape Seed Extract. I looked it up and it helps with hair loss, especially for those on hrt. I get it at GNC. I take 3 100mgs a day. Good luck to you!!
