An ovary question

I had my TVH May 22. Everything went fairly well and I was able to keep my ovaries Now, the problem is this....lately I have been having hot flashes and then getting the chills. Plus I can't sleep at night (this started a few days ago) because I'm either too hot or my right side aches when I lay on it. Is it possible for the ovaries to shut down at this late date? They got back into action pretty well after my hyst so this has caught me by surprise!! Other than knee problems that I am working on getting corrected I'm not sick or anything so I had to check in here for some answers.
Thanks all!

An ovary question

Some of your levels could be changing but they may be going up or down. The chill feeling is not uncommon if it follows the hot flash. It's just your bodies way of compensating and trying to sort it all out. The not sleeping is possibly a sign of lower estrogen but could also be from other things. You may have just dropped a notch or two and it will settle and find it's own balance. Try and see if there's a pattern to all of this. Your estrogen levels will be lowest at the end and beginning of a cycle and then start climbing. It may settle down, if not then getting your levels tested may help - although if they are fluctuating it's not always a clear picture.

An ovary question

Hi Jennie
I had my uterus and left ovary removed 1 yr ago.. 6 months later I wasn't feeling right, not sure of the symptons that I had, I went and saw my dr. he thought it was a hernia, I went threw a cat scan-- showed it wasn't a hernia but was something, I saw my surgeon who did another ultra-sound, who said on my left ovary I had a blood filled cyst and it had brust, said that needed to come out. He told me I was a mess inside and thought it was going to be cancerous beacuse there was so much, but Thank the Lord it wasn't !! Today I had my 6 month check-up, my stomach still feels sore/tender he says it takes a yr for some to fully recover. I hope things get better for you soon !! take care ! {{hugs}}
