Cold Flashes Anyone????
Ok,
I feel like I have the flu or I'm loosing my mind. I had my LAVH four weeks ago. The temp here has been around 100. So after our walk last night (I've been feelling great) I totally started freezing (like you do when you have the flu). I was in pj pants, long sleeve shirt, socks and a sweat shirt. Slept in that under the blanket last night. Then I'll feel normal. Then I'm cold again (like when I took a hot bath today). I took my temp last night it was 97.5 or something like that so no fever. Then I took it again today (cuz I was surprised that I wasn't sweating in my sleep wear) and it was 96.5.
So, I know how to deal with a fever. I but I don't have one. I guess I should tell you that I was able to keep one ovary. I no longer have my cervix. The doctor asked me at my two week check up if I had hot flashes, nope. But cold flashes as of last night. Now that's something else. I just want to take care of myself (I'm the type to do stuff and make myself sick). Please let me know if anyone else has experienced this. I feel tired, and have a narly head ache since yesterday.
Thank you,
Crazy's Princess

Cold Flashes Anyone????
Hello there, Chilly One!
Prior to beginning HRT, I experienced a few cold flashes. I asked my gyn about them, and he said it was a less-common reaction to estrogen deprivation than hot flashes, but was not unheard of. After my HRT kicked in, they went away. Maybe after your ovary gets back to work, yours will abate as well. Let's hope so!
 s and Best Wishes!

Thank you,
I thought I was going crazy for a while there. I will wait it out but let my doc know, cuz he wanted to know how I was feelling with all of this. Good to know I'm not totally crazy, just a little (but that's normal). (giggle).

Cold Flashes Anyone????

Following my hyst I did experience a period of extreme cold flashes. I did also have hot flashes, but there was a period of time where my hot flashes were followed by a mind numbing coldness, I would get so cold my teeth would literally start to chatter.
I would give your doctor a call just to be sure all is okay. A feeling of coldness can also be a sign of a thyroid imbalance. I always think it's best to check with the doc.

Cold Flashes Anyone????
Hi,
I have both hot flashes and chill flashes. I had them before the surgery and I have them now. I get more chill ones now and less hot ones.
I have had thyroid tests and they turned out normal. I think it is normal for some people to have this. It is an imbalance or fluctuation of hormones as I understand it.
I do know that the chill flashes can be just as uncomfortable as the hot ones.
I hope you find a balance . I know mine aren't all the time and usually I know when the chill comes, because it is right after the warm or hot flush.
Yes, go to the dr and see if your thyroid is okay, just to be on safe side.

Cold Flashes Anyone????
Hi. I'm a cold flasher also. Mine always coincide with a dip in my estrogen, so I up the patches or just put on a new one (or two). My bp also starts sky-rocketing around the same time. My thyroid has always checked out normal. Hope things work out for you. Hugs, Gal.

cold flashes
I have had the same thing happen, only I stay cold for a long time
and it takes a while to warm up. I don't seem to tolerate extremes in temps too well. My husband is always hot so he said he wanted me to have some of those "hot flashes" so he could keep the air down to "North pole" setting. I have disappointed him greatly. This has not changed much in my two years Post Op. I nearly froze all winter and me in Florida no less. My body temp is very low also and the thyroid checks have not solved the problem of what causes it. I have had the T3 treatments and my temp never went up at all like it was supposed to. Getting Thyroid checked again and waiting for results as well as othr levels of hormones. Don't have any answers yet though.

Cold Flashes Anyone????
I can't believe some of the things I read on this. I have been having cold flashes and I go and look at the thermostat to see if my husband messed with it. I didn't realize until I read this about cold flashes. This website and my hystersisters have had so many things that I thought I was going crazy over and its yet another side effect of HRT or lack there of. Thanks for being here!!!
