Someone please help, chronic itching & discharge

Hello everyone this is my first message. After 5 years of a discharge, which caused itching, especially at night, I had a TVH. I had tried every other kind of treatment known to man. It is not yeast, has a milky color and is mainly inside but some always comes out, enough to make me itch terribly. I couldnt stand it any more. I had a tvh 2 years ago and I was told the discharge was coming from my cervix and this would take care of it. No such luck, it is the same as before. I went to Mayo Clinic in Feb. and she said dont wash so much, dont sleep in underwear, gave me a steroid cream without preservatives, prescribed vagifem (an internal hormone) none of which has done anything. I have hot flashes and night sweats but I am hesitant to use hormones because I had Deep Vein Thrombosis when I had my son 19 years ago . I have now been told to take Syntest HS, but I am not willing to take the risk unless I WILL get some kind of relief. I need help. Thank you

Hi Lori

The Syntest HS is a combination of a synthetic estrogen and methyltestosterone. It's prescribed for symptoms of menopause so it could help with the hot flashes and night sweats.

Have you had a culture done on the discharge? Has your pH balance been checked? You said it isn't yeast but there are other causes for discharge and itching so it would be worthwhile to figure out what it is and how to treat it.

I don't have any experience with DVT so I don't know what to tell you about the risk factor with HRT.

Thank you for you response April Dawn, I have been cultured for everything possible, it does not culture anything. Of course before they did my tvh they checked for everything possible as far as a lab goes. I have, on my own, tried a yeast free, sugar free diet, NO LUCK. Yogurt, accidophillus, peroxide inserted on a tampon, iodine inserted on a tampon, boric acid, all types of antibiotic, steroid creams, diflucan every other day for 6 months, and many other types of treatment. I have given up on the medical community helping me and thats how I found the Hyster Sisters in a desparate attempt for any kind of relief. Thanks for your concern. Lori

Lori,

How frustrating! The only other thing I can suggest is that you try doing a search of this entire site to read whatever discussions there have been on this subject. Click on Search near the top of the page and enter whatever search terms you want.
