Danazol linked to Ovarian Cancer????

For those of you suffering endo I found a webpage today (lots of them really) that found that endo sufferers have a greater risk of Ovarian Cancer. If you were treated with Danazol (as I was) then your risk is much higher. Apparantly it is the Androgen that is the cause

I have a complex cyst, no children, treated with Clomid and never used birth control.
Guess who will be on the Princess list soon (or at the minimum an oopherectomy)

Does any of this come as a surprise to you? or am i just behind in my research

How long ago were you treated with the danazol? I had endo back in my early thirties and was treated with danazol for 6 months. This was over 20 years ago. You've got me wondering now!!! Geez!! it's always something isn't it?

I was diagnosed around 22 years ago and had 6 months on it. I hated it - gained lots of kilos in weight, grew facial hear and had nasty moods. And when they did a followup laparoscopy, i still had endo.

Mr Drs are talking serious operation to remove it as they are concerned I have it in my bowel - already have it on my ovaries.

I was one of the lucky ones. It got rid of my endo and I had no side effects that I can remember. I guess I have to hope it hasn't left me with a legacy though.

I'm really sorry it didn't cure yours. It's a nasty piece of business alright. I'll never forget the pain of it.
