Yeast for over 4 mos

Helloooo Ladies...
I have been coming for advice pretty regular now for a nast yeast that just will not go away. I did all the helpful hints that youall gave me but nothing worked. I have now become very algeric to any kind of monistat and diflucan. I am now going to a Infecious Diease doc to find out what is going on and how to fix this. No that I have had this yeast infection for 4 going on 5 mo I now have sever displasia....I am not even a year out from my cancer and was so looking forward to a clean bill but no such luck. Yesterday I cam back with massive pre cancer cells yet again. I have become very scared now. My Gyne and the Infectious diease Docs are all working together now. they have put me on a new drug. It is only thru IV so I have to do IV infussion at home now for several weeks to several mo. They are all hoping to kill the yeast and to try to reverse the dispalsia. The drug is called Cancidas. It is very new only out since 01. I am the first person that has been put on it in my area and believe my state. It dose have some nasty side affects but I am ealing with them. I was wondering if anyone has had yeast like this and or has ever used this drug. I am just looking for a life line. I am willing to try anything. I don't want to be a cancer patient yet again......Take care all of you!!!

try this!

Hi!

I used to get yeast infections ALL the time. Now whenever I have to take antibiotics (just finished a course) I also take a dietary supplement called Lactobacillus Acidophilus...it is the culture found in yougurt....but in pill form. You can find it at any health food store. Try it....I hope it works for you

Pals,

Yeast for over 4 mos

(((Beany)))

Isn't yeast awful? And it sounds like you have a real nasty case!

I struggled with alternate yeast and bacterial infections for about one year or so after my TAH. Immediately after the TAH I had the absolute worst yeast infection--even my doc couldn't believe how bad it was. We treated it with Terazol7, two courses. After that was completed, about a week later it was determined that I had a bacterial infection that was treated with Metrogel. Which led to another yeast infection, which led to another bacterial infection. It was a never-ending cycle. I have to say that I eventually threw out the medication and threw up my hands. It was ridiculous!

So, I read a lot of women's health books and here is what I did for me (this won't necessarily work for you, and you should check with your doctor if you want to try any of it).

Twice a day I drank cranberry juice. Not the cocktail--straight cranberry. Not the concentrate--straight from the berry. Since I'm a wimp and can't stand the strength of it, I mixed it 1/2 and 1/2 with concord grape juice (organic, not from concentrate). Then, during the day I drank Pau d'Arco tea (comes from South America) and added calendula flowers and nettle leaves (you can get this at health food stores). Then I reduced my sugar intake as much as possible, ceased intimacy with DH (I didn't want my pH thrown off during this time), and drank as much water as possible. It was not an easy road and took about 3 months of diligence, but it paid off for me. I continued with the cranberry juice once a day for about a year, and I was bacterial and yeast infection free for about 2 years until just recently when I had several procedures and a surgery requiring antibiotics. I've had a bacterial infection now for about 3 weeks, but I think it's nearly gone now--I'm pretty much without symptoms. Right now I'm doing juice twice a day and tea once a day. I'll be changing that soon just to the juice once a day.

I hope you are able to find something that helps you (perhaps this new medicine will do the trick). Good luck, and keep us posted!
