TAH/Tummy Tuck -- bladder question

Hi Ladies,

I had TAH, cervix removed, left ovary removed and full abdominoplasty on 7-14. I've been reading all the past posts I can find on a couple of questions I have but wanted to post a new one and see what responses come along.

First, the bladder question. I think this is normal but my bladder feels very weird, very sensitive. I get a pain sensation along with the full-bladder sensation when it's time to go. Then while going if I release the muscles too quickly or fully, it feels like something pulling inside and hurts somewhat. So is this normal after a hyst? How long does this last, or is it just one of those things that's different for each person?

Then, the next question may be related to the tummy tuck, but I'm not sure. I had two drains in what the doctor called the mound (the private area just below the incision, which they shaved I guess for the drains). Anyway, it's very very sore and extremely sensitive to the touch, even panties or clothing brushing over it. It was hugely abnormally swollen the first 7-10 days which the plastic surgeon said was perfectly normal, but even now that it's almost back to a normal size it's just so sensitive. Just wondered if anyone else has had this experience with this part of the body and if so, how long does it last.

TAH/Tummy Tuck -- bladder question

Hi Becky

I had a TAH/TT on 6/30. I too have weird bladder feelings - its almost like now that my uterus is gone I can actually "feel" my bladder - not quite sure how to explain it. I don't feel pain I just feel weird. It did take about 8-10 days for my bladder to get back to normal - in the beginning it was very slow going. I'm going to the gyn today for my post op and I'm going to ask her.

As for the drains - mine were at the ends of my incision and I haven't had any problems with those sites.

Julie
