Pain Is it Ovary??

On July 19 had a TAH Where they left only one ovary on the left. Could the pain I am feeling be it?? What I am wondering is using the belly button how far down over would the ovary be? To me it is one hand down and one over. I know I over did it I guess a bit since I seem a bit swollen. Oh and my incision still has a little bit of leakage. It looks fine not hot or anything. I am just not sure if it worth a call to the Doc. Not bad pain just aware of it.

So ladies what do you think??

Pain Is it Ovary??

Hello Pat!!...Im just curious...How far along are you in your cycle before you you had your hyster?...Did you have pain in your ovaries before?...But if not there could be an infection setting in...Even tho there is no "bad" pain right now it could happen...If i was you I would call my doc and tell him/her exactly what you told us...Im 3 wks post op myself...The pain that I was feeling was due to everything kinda moving around...But please call your doc just in case...I also would say something about the leakage also...I know that all women are different but I have no leakage now whatsoever...For your leakage put one of those 4x4 thingys over it..Especially if your in clothes or going somewhere..That will help with that..Good luck sweetie

Pain Is it Ovary??

Yes I wear a bandage type of thing over it all the time.
I guess I would be starting my cycle about now. Lost track of time. Could be just that! I had always had mild pain when the cycle started so sounds reasonable.
THANKS shall give the doc a call now! Guess I just needed to be pushed.

Pain Is it Ovary??

Pat,
At three weeks post-op I was feeling all kinds of strange twinges, tugs, shooting pains, pulls, and a constant pain that set in around where I thought my left ovary would be located. The next week it moved to the right side. I have seen several posts about right or left sided pain around the 3 week mark. I assumed since there were so many complaints, it was just a normal healing pain. After the 4th week, it was gone. You are at a time in your recovery where alot of nerves are waking up from the shock and regenerating. You are likely to feel some new and different discomforts.
I have also heard that, during the first few months when you ovulate, the pain will be a little more intense than it was pre-surgery. It will take a few months for your system to be functioning as before.
Just beware of any fever which could indicate an infection.

Some of us used our old left-over pads on our leaky incisions. They came in handy once again!!
Hugs!!

Pain Is it Ovary??

I would like to thank you ALL! What a comfort you all are!

Here is what the Doctors office said. Ovary pain was a cycle thing and nerves awaking as was mentioned.

The leakage thing is a small infection but is ok. typical infection. So heating pad type of thing is what I needed to do.

So again thank you all. To those who are new please remember that when things are going well we have little to say. So rest assured we all do get better and the ladies here are more than caring people they are friends!
