Back pain question

I've had lower back pain for years. When I started researching adenomyosis (which I've been diagnosed with), I found there's a possibility that there's a relation between that and my backaches. It may be wishful thinking on my part, but now I'm hoping that surgery will do more than solve the bleeding problem. Does anyone else have this problem with back pain?

Back pain question

Hi janelarson,

My big pain, besides the low abdominal cramping was and still is for 2 1/2 years - Hip pain. The pain is mainly in the joints of the hips but extends down into the booty, thighs and now into knee joints. The last period that I had the pain was so severe that I couldnt even walk and felt as if all of my entire lower half muscles were spasming and cramping up. I had chills and heart was racing...I was at a concert when this happened and my DH was about to call for an ambulance. I told him not to cause I didnt want to prolong the suffering at the ER for umteen hours... This was just this last Sat night and I hope this is my last visit that I will have from the old wicked hag Aunt Phantom Flo,( I had an Ablation last 08-03 and havent hemorhaged since - just adendo pain),,,knock on the hardest OAK wood. I am having truly WIshFUL Thinking cause that would be like killing two nasty crows with one stone if this is indeed the ADenomyosis that is causing this pain in the lower half of my body. I hope you kill those two big crows as well when you have your Hyst. Hope my post helps...BIG HUGS 2 U, Krisclynn

Back pain question

I don't know about adenomyosis, but I was having backaches with my big fibroid, and they went away immediately after surgery. I had no idea how bad I was feeling before until those old pains were gone.

Back pain question

Thanks for your responses. I found a thread the other day where a number of members posted that their back troubles improved after their hyst. Of course there's another one where they got worse. I guess I just need to focus on getting rid of the adeno and the bleeding. No doctor has ever said my back troubles are possibly linked in any way to my uterus so I shouldn't expect much!

Back pain question

A number of Sisters have said their back pains went away with their hyster. Adhesions, fibroids, adeno...can all contribute to those aches and pains. Not only did I lose the back aches, but I lost my migraines...and I don't miss either one.

Back pain question

This thread has got me thinking a bit! I don't want to seem stupid, but can I just ask what adenomyosis is?! I had severe back and pelvic pains pre-op but no-one ever gave it a name! Is this fundamentally what it is?!!

I feel sooo stupid asking!!!!

Back pain question

From all my reading on the topic, it seems that adenomyosis is when endometrial tissue grows into the inner walls of the uterus. One of the sites I looked at said that adeno used to be thought of as an intrauterine form of endometriosis. Many women suffer a lot of pain with it, but I'm lucky that way -- I have a lot of bleeding and spotting but very little cramping. I can't imagine getting both!

Diadema's experience is what I'm hoping for. I've often thought I should have bought stock in the drug companies because I use so many pain relievers. I'm not looking forward to that two weeks of nothing but Tylenol before surgery either. I've done that before and I know my back will be killing me!

Back pain question

Maaaaaaaaaaaan, I hope it gets rid of the back aches. LOL
I didn't have (well I won't say ANY) problems before my molar pregnancy last year, and with that and my D&C and BTL, I have had horrid pelvic and back pain- my major reason for seeking treatment. My surg is 8-13- getting a bit nervous, but I too hope it helps with the back pain. I have been diagnosed with pelvic pain (well, duh LOL) we even tried trigger point injects with no relief. I know I have PCOS, and thickening of the uterine lining, fluid around my ovaries and pelvic and lower back pain. I don't know which and who are doing what, and I have recently developed the 'bleeding problem'.... haven't probably had 50 periods my whole life and now i have had something like 19 this year. I do hope it cures the back pain, as that was my driving force to seek treatment, but i figure what the heck, its got to fix atleast one of the problems! LOL
I wanna join Diadema and lose my headaches too!!!!

One question tho, anyone experiencing nausea.... its not all day, but it is every day, not my nerves, but has been pretty bad last couple months....? anyway, just wondering..... hope that goes away too (after I lose that stubborn 20 lbs)

Back pain question

janelarson,
I carried my heating pad to work with me for about the last 10 days before my hyster. I wasn't allowed to take Aleve or Advil and I was on light duty due to a cyst rupturing during a slight problem we were handling at work. Liability issues being what they are, I was placed in the control booth to finish my Lady-In-Waiting period. So...I figured I'd bring in my heating pad. I just moved it from front to back every so often! It helped some.

hold72,
There are Sisters who lose their headaches with surgery...and sadly, there are some who either don't stop having them or start getting them. I figured mine decided to tag along with the pesky ovaries...and I don't miss 'em a bit!!

musk2u,
Adenomyosis is similar to endo, from what I've been told, except that it's entirely within the muscular walls of the uterus. This causes the uterus to be boggy, soft and painful. Cramps, heavy periods with large clots and eventually 24/7 pain seem to be it's trademark. The only real "cure" is a hyster.

Good luck!

Back pain question

I to have suspected adenomyosis, along with fibroids, heavy bleeding, severe cramping (all month long), hip, leg, and now hellatious back pain.

I am do to go into surgery on Tuesday, and I am praying not only will my Dr. Take my uterus, and bleeding problem, but my pain as well. As I sit here and talk to you, I feel that my tail bone has cracked in half. I am walking around like a 100 yr old woman, or Quazimoto. (SANCTUARY) My cramping is severe. My period was a few days late this month, and started yesterday with a vengeance. I wonder if my insides are retaliating? LOL

Good Luck to you, and I pray everything works out great.

God Bless

's
